Benzos Another 3075million alprazolam question

So I can keep taking it?
I mean I guess? You can find tenuous links to cancer with pretty much any drug, it's meaningless in most cases. The problem is if you have severe anxiety problems and are dependent on benzos it's a vicious cycle that will never end, you'll never know what is real anxiety or what is offset anxiety from benzo tolerance/withdrawal. You mov further and further from baseline. You need to ween off them entirely. Have you ever been tested for autism? Might be something to look into.

Yes but I take days off. Why autism? No I haven't

Does a 0.5mg alprazolam (legit pharmacy) pill have the same potency as a 2mg bar?

The way this is worded kind of sounds like the "2mg bar" might not be sourced from a pharmacy. Is that correct? That could change the answer to the question. Are you buying the "2mg bars" from the street or online?

Just seemed odd to qualify that the .5mg alprazolam as being from a "legit pharmacy" but not characterize the 2mg bars as such. Most 2mg bar sold on the street/online aren't alprazolam but rather other RC benzos, like bromazolam, flualprazolam and others. In anycase, that changes the answer here.

Craving some benzodiazepines now. Ho

Yep your right it doesn't make sense.
What I should have said is does four 0.5mg pills equal the same as 2mg bar?

How long beforehand should I take Tagamet before dropping a Valley or zanny and does it increase the potentiation even more if I take two Tagamet instead of one?

But frankly, everyone responds differently so it's not a simple question to answer.

If I'm honest, I would just A|VOID grapefruit juice and be sure to only take alprazolam very occasionally. There is no such thing as a totally safe drug, mixing with grapefruit juice adds to the risk and as BL is a HR site, nobody CAN ensure your safety.

Hey @goaway12345 we're happy to help you. Please don't bump your own threads though. That's unfair to everyone else whose' question(s) are just as valid as yours.

I want to help you out. This is a "teach a man to fish" situation in the sphere of online Harm Reduction. You're asking some questions that are pretty well-studied and well-reported. If I were to google your question regarding the "potentiation", you could have very easily answered your own question. You wouldn't have to wait for us. I know this will sound cheezy. The more and faster you learn this stuff, the faster you're able to turn around and spit it back out to the folks asking the questions.

Furthermore, we've talked about this a million times here on the forums. I have spent so much time talking about enzymes and getting high that I'm qualified to teach a seminar.

To throw you a bone:

Grapefruit and similar fruit like Bergamot contain flavonoids that inhibit different enzymes of the P450 family. This group is responsible for metabolizing ~50% of all known drugs.

Yes, certain Benzodiazepines are going to be inhibited via this process.

Truthfully, I've been through this many times in my personal life. I've used drugs for over a decade and though "clean", I still take drugs that are affected by this process. I've never noticed any difference in effects that I could truly, honestly say were any different than had I not taken these things. The thing is, I know from reading that there definitely is SOME kind of effect. This has led me to say that this potentiation couldn't be any more than 20% on the high end.

Again, I couldn't tell you this from subjective experience. I never could truly tell a difference.

If you were to use these, you would probably want to take them an hour or so before taking your Alprazolam (Xanax). Who knows, you might notice a difference. That was just my experience. To elaborate, I've eaten grapefruit, drank grapefruit juice, taken Cimetidine (Tagamet) dozens of times etc.

Methadone is a drug that would be more affected by these enzyme changes. The only time with any drug that I truly believe there was a difference was when I took antacids before Methadone; that's antacids in general. This could be Cimetidine, Tumes or Bakind Soda. I hope this helps.

Understood on bumping own thread. Thank you for the much detailed reply.

I spose a liver transplant is out of the question?
Spose a dumb, stupid 🙄 question, I know this is a HR website.

Another question 🤔 do you know if Cimetidine (it has to be Tagamet brand not Equate) causes cancer?

I think I'm correct in thinking that it was the presence of high-levels of nitrosamines that was the concern surrounding Targamet'.

I'm fairly sure that the problem has been solved as it came to like about a year ago.

It's purely speculation but knowing cost is the KEY driver surrounding the production of OTC medicines, some genius simply decided to find out what happened if the volume of solvents was reduced. The yield increased, the reaction time reduced. But if the original patent ever calls for more solvent, I would at least want to know WHY the original development team specified what appeared to be more solvent than required.

I say this because tryptophan was taken off the market due to tainted batches and you guessed it, the issue was someone deciding to find if they could use less solvent.

 :unsure:googled search hmmm so it does cause cancer?

The impurity that ended up in the final product is a compound classed as a carcinogen. But the problem was discovered a long time ago and it appears that steps were taken to address the issue.
