Is feeling like you're in a videogame/simulation when you smoke weed a normal thing or am I just a weird person?

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I wanted to ask you guys a strange yet interesting question that I really want to know the answer to. Is it common or uncommon to smoke potent marijuana and freak out thinking that your in some kind of real life videogame, or in a real life VR simulation of some sort. Has anybody else here who's smoked marijuana experienced that feeling of being inside a VR simulation/videogame? And is it normal to freak out the first time you try marijuana? Am I just a lightweight dumbass who can't handle weed? I ask this because the first time I smoked weed I experienced a moment where I freaked the fuck out and thought I was in a videogame or VR Simulation, I didn't see any fractal visuals or anything that might suggest that they laced my weed with LSD. I just saw everything looking like brighter, colorful, animated, cool looking. I'm beginning to wonder if they gave me some Spice or K2 (you know, synthetic weed). By the way it was street bought weed and no, it was not laced with opioids because I did not experience extreme drowsiness, I was really hyperactive and animated when I first tried it. Can you guys clarify if you think my stuff was either synthetic, laced with something, or was it just regular weed. Is it normal to have these kinds of reactions to weed, just wanted to know.

Cheers!

On Weed/ THC never, 2 situations come close.

Taking 15 mg 2C-B, instead of the usual 10,
and experiencing cartoon-ish. Video/ PC game visuals,
felt like being a cartoon though lucid.
And not all the time but at random moments.
A atypical psychedelic,in terms of OEVs.
They are bizar realistic on it,
unique and shared hallucinations.
Any on saw the same, how is that possible ?

That s a topic for in a other thread.

And dreams , before the Video game VR area,
where i was stuck in a TV program.
A disturbing dream not a nightmare but close.

actually I got flashback to feeling like in game or movie after blazing when I was still in college.

Good times.
You went to college?
I don't know, but maybe slapping seals is kinda weird.
Were you high when you wrote this?
SORRY. didn't pay attention the OP's handle. Agreed.

I'm not a frecuentemente weed user, and probably every weed would have been potent for me every time I smoked.
But I have never had that kind of thing happen to me.
Time distortions, yes.
Increased susceptibility to any kind of physical perception (temperature/hunger/thirst/taste/pain/sound/light/smell), yes.
Mostly giggly, yes.
But never something like what you describe.

...is it normal to freak out the first time you try marijuana?

It was decades ago for me but i'll say i felt nothing, actually a bit of training was necessary as i most vaguely recall. Which makes me post this home-made reality-filter again:

Neuro-plasticity;
Contaminants;
Consumption Method & Ritual;
Socio-toxic 3rd-party interference.

...thought I was in a videogame or VR Simulation...

The concept of virtual "reality" was limited to TV in Black & White in the good old days and we weren't allowed to stay inside the house all day long, so our heads got filled with perceptions of the world around us. Colour came much later after a cognitive base was acquired... Maybe if your mind was built watching adventure and sci-fi shows until midnight that may shape an imagination. Have you ever gone to the lake and simply spent an afternoon fishing? How about playing in the sand, or enjoying the company of animals, if not neighbours?... Ever built anything with your own hands?? Drawing, playing guitar, cooking?!

...laced my weed with LSD.

"Laced"?? Those were days of bliss to me, i embraced it all i could and never lost the notion of what's real or virtual.

I just saw everything looking like brighter, colorful, animated, cool looking. I'm beginning to wonder...

Well, it may be an effect of « légaleezation » focussed on only 3 groups of genetics: THC-centric, so-called "balanced" 1:1 CBD or even buzz-denying Full-CBD. E.G. with very little normality in between...

...was it just regular weed.

Normal cannabis is a thing of the past, you'd have to find old genetics and home-grow to call it "normal". In any case this is dismissing the Consumption Method & Ritual aspects themselves strongly influenced by Socio-toxic 3rd-party interference. No need for contaminants when the entourage effect is lost and the rest is getting trashed too, starting with the abuse of dosing spiral chasing monster clouds!

Time to take a long walk outside perhaps!! Just be careful not to meet a bear if you visit the woods...

I've experienced this "in a videogame" feeling on anything that can be even remotely dissociative. If I were to try to list out substances that've done me this way, it'd be ketamine, 3-MeO-PCP, 3-HO-PCP, DCK, 2F-DCK, 2F-O-PCE/2-FXE/CanKet, DXM, DXM alongside bupropion for its unique metabolic effects, nitrous oxide, MDMB-4en-PINACA, Δ8, Δ9, Δ10/Δ6, THC-H, THC-B, THC-P, THC-O, THC-PO, HHC, and HHC-O. Each one in an adequately mid-ranged dose can make me feel like I'm in a video game, I often refer to the process of walking while in this state as "being in a video game's walk cycle" (walk cycle is the term used in game development to refer to the animation of walking).

Had this happen a few times after smoking a really strong sativa. One notable time I was so damn high I was eating some greasy ass pasta salad and I was just picking at that point. Everytime I moved my fork I felt like I was glitching. Room kept feeling bright and then dim, and time felt as though it was speeding up and slowing down as I moved. Closest Its ever felt twords a plateau 2 dxm high just smoking weed. Odds are you just had some really good shit or smoked too much.

just cause you are seeing fractals from weed doesn't mean it's laced... honestly weed gives me crazy closed eye visuals even after 20 years of smoking... i'd get delayed vision and colors in the air with my eyes opened when i first started weed. this went away after sometime smoking even with out tolerance breaks... now it's pretty much just closed eye visuals and a body high for me. much less intense and easier to deal with than when i first started smoking.... some people never really get the tolerance i do and claim tolerance breaks are great, but i'm kind of stuck with a more mild high than when i first started.

i never really felt weed was like a video game very much, more like a light show at a concert with intense highs, but there were people in my high school that used to claim that driving on weed was like a video game. i definitely don't recommend inexperienced smokers drive, and if you are so baked you feel like you are in a video game, i'm gonna say it's good harm reduction to not drive... but that was definitely a common comment people would make when i was in high school... so i don't think OP is really abnormal if they haven't had much experience with weed. even if they have, some people will continually get super baked from weed, just not what most people report. everyone's different.

I've had the exact same experience and some times when I some too much I get intense visuals I'm not shure why but from my research I've found that some people like us react to thc different then other altho there could be underlying mental problems like schizophrenia but it could just also be temporary phycosis
