How long after last suboxone can I use morphine?

Hello,

I have been on Suboxone for years now, and my usual dose is 2-4 mgs daily. I plan to take morphine Thursday morning, and was thinking of taking my last suboxone dose in roughly 7 hours. So it will be around 48 hours since my last dose before I take morphs. Will this be long enough to feel the morphs? I'm asking because I've taken morphs before but only waited barely 24 hours after my last sub dose. What do you think?

Thanks

You can, but you probably won't feel the full effect. How many mg of Morphine are you going to use?
It's better to lower your dosage to 1mg or less. I can feel M. the next day if bupe dose is less than 1mg

Well I was thinking of taking around 180 mgs before my flight (just breaking the 60 sustained release in half or so) . I took around 1 mg of suboxone 12 hours ago, and don't plan on taking anymore for now.

If you want a successful run and not waste cash then try wait a min 36hrs but 48hrs would be optimal.

Try the parachute method seeing on the ROA you gonna use.

Other then that, enjoy and be safe.

Thanks for the tip. - I'll likely be around the 40-42 hours+ range

The parachute method is probably too much given I don't abuse opiates anymore. - I was thinking of taking a higher dose (breaking two in half and then taking an intact 60mg) to prolong the effect. I'm just a bit concerned I won't feel it much given how I can sometimes take 8mg sub(very rarely) and be fine. - Do you suggest a higher dose given my tolerance?

Probably ~3 days before you get 100% effect. But you might still get some effect after as little as 12 hours. Its all very much dependent on you and how your metabolism works.

I know with me, dilaudid works somewhat, pretty much right away, indicating even 16mg no longer fully saturates my opioid receptors. But I've also been on subs for like 10 years so thats probably why. But to get to 100% effect yeah I still gotta wait 2-3 days.

Anyone else have any input?

I'll be leaving in about 10 hours or so.
When I take less than 2mg of bupe, I can feel the Morphine on the next day. You probably need a higher dosage than usually, but you will still feel the most effects.
Higher doses block it almost completely, and you have to wait 3-4 days at least.

Do you have any experience with IV morphine while on suboxone?

I’ve been on it for about 3 years at 16mg and during the first year I could feel rectal morphine by 12 - 24 hours after suboxone. Now, any attempt I’ve made to use opioids is spoiled by my dependency on suboxone. Typically, I just don’t feel them and subsequently end up in a state of buprenorphine withdrawal. So I then use the suboxone I was initially trying not to use and it has, at times, precipitated withdrawal. The feeling actually is very reminiscent of being in withdrawal from heavy kratom use (~150gpd plus extract plus traditional opioids) and using just opioids; it’s like this half relief but still sick feeling.

So, does a long term bupr users just have to go into a full state of withdrawal to experience any desirable opioid effects when using full agonists (72 hrs statement?

My next question is, and I probably already know the answer, but if it is the case that someone has to wait 3 days to use successfully and if their *goal is to avoid withdrawal*, does that person just end up using a much larger dose to compensate? Essentially the choice becomes wasting drugs or going into withdrawal; not to mention reinduction.

I’ve been thinking about trying to get to at least 4mg twice daily (8mg total) and hoping that I can at least feel something from full agonists. I’m so damn tired of being stuck in this limbo. It’s nice on one hand but on the other it’s an absolute cage.

Do you think IV use would decrease that timeline? Is withdrawal from buprenorphine inevitable unless absurd quantities are ingested?

In my experience, no, but everybody is different. I used to find back in my earlier days of suboxone use I could take a couple day vacation from bupe and do some fentanyl and then go back to suboxone without much fuss. Even a couple years ago I could do the same with diluadid. But if I were to stay off bupe for say 2 weeks then yeah there's gonna be some withdrawal to deal with. Also I've never taken IV morphine. I have done oral morphine but since being on bupe I find it not strong enough to really have much of an effect. I wouldn't imagine IV would be the same? But I suppose it depends on dose and again, ones own anatomy. Sorry its really hard to give exact answers with stuff like this.
