Benzos Quick Question on Xanax/ Pregabalin and Gabapentin (Quick answer preferable!)

Hey y’all still new so apologies for the bad intro intro. Anyway I took 1.5mg of Xanax about an hour ago but my tolerance to benzos is insanely (way too) high. Was wondering if I could safely take Lyrica and Gabapentin while hardly being sedated by Xanax as it’s wearing off. Lyrica makes for a great day and the Gabapentin is just a little added barrier. Thanks, Bluelight based community.

I wouldn’t suggest crazy doses of both but you should be good. There’s another thread -

where the same combo is discussed if you want to read more into it

I see thank you! In your experience or knowledge of Pregabalin and Gabapentin, I took 150 mg of Pregabalin, and 400mg Gabapentin. Would it be possible of give me a little quote of how long I should wait between taking these two, and my Xanax that I’m prescribed because everything I read is pretty scary stuff, but then some people will say it’s fine and they do it all the time. Thanks again for your knowledge it’s truly appreciated

Like Kief mentioned in the other thread, lyrica and gabapentin are cross-tolerant of each other so essentially you’ve taken about 250mg lyrica(or 1200mg gabapentin) if I’m doing this math right. The only real warnings about mixing either of the Gabapentinoids with Xanax is mostly confusion/difficulty thinking and motor skill issues. I’m trying to post a quote from drugs.com but it won’t let me for some reason lol.

1.5mg of Xanax and 250mg pregabalin are within the therapeutic dose range, although on the high side, and should be safe as long as you’re not doing anything that requires quick thinking or fine motor skills. Don’t drive, don’t operate or work on heavy machinery. Bars, alcohol in general and the general public are a bad idea with the combo, I got myself in some pretty shitty situations with similar combos by just going out in public. I’m a fucking problem just drunk - adding Xanax and other drugs to the mix is just me begging to be arrested or killed.

Even with a high benzo tolerance adding gaba/lyrica in high enough doses can make it seem like you’re on a higher benzo dose and I don’t know for sure but I’d assume a benzo blackout would be much easier. Just err on the side of caution so you don’t get too fucked up and end up doing something stupid. Sorry I don’t really know an exact time frame for drug spacing, that’s never really been my strong suit lol. I don’t know the half life off hand for any of those 3 drugs but as far as I know, especially Xanax, they aren’t very long. My 2 cents is you’re perfectly safe to take them all together if you don’t have stuff to do. If you gotta be fully functional, without having to look anything up I’d say wait until you feel like you’ve at least mostly come down off whatever drug you decide to do first before dosing the next just to be safe. I’ve been at work a time or 100 where I thought I was all good and ended up being fuckin blasted, half the time I didn’t even know I was fucked up but other people did.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve actually been typing this for hours but I’ve been super busy today otherwise I would’ve looked up half life’s and dosage spacing but honestly it’s easy enough to research yourself, and well worth doing your research so you don’t have to depend on some random person online who may or may not know what they’re talking about. There are a lot of well read, intelligent people on here but there’s also plenty of people who don’t know nearly as much as they think they do and will give some crazy, compete opposite of harm reduction advice. That being said I’d always take anything I say with a grain of salt and get a second opinion cause I’m not always 100% sure, but I’ll usually stare that. I’ve been looking shit up myself since around age 11 when I started doing drugs, but my brain and memory are pretty shit and I don’t doubt I misunderstand some things.

I really appreciate the response and it was very well written! I definitely don’t plan on doing it often as I felt like a weightless thing with 2 legs but honestly I took Xanax like 8 hours after the Gabapentin which kicked in a lot an hour before I took the Xanax even though I tired to space them out lmao. It was nice but I’m too dang paranoid about the whole CNS thing. Again thanks for your response!

Hey @PlumpGrapefruits :) Glad to see you still around and contributing to our little community. Kudos to you sir. However, these are only Mini Kudos, like the kind my Mom used to put in my lunch. Please don't make duplicate threads concerning the same objective/subject matter.

You are not in any trouble. You did nothing wrong. This is just me telling you how we do things. When we ask, please just help us out by trying to follow the rules. I know you're a good dude @PlumpGrapefruits I have to give this speech to everyone who posts duplicates.

In the future, just include this as an addendum to your other thread. People will still see it. The issue with duplicate posts is that they really mess with our ability to organize and thus, the ability of our people to get their answers.

Again, no harm done buddy. Just filling you in!

Before I lock this: You shouldn't be in any kind of danger with this combination/dosages. The worst possible outcome would be you becoming overly sedated and fall asleep on the couch. For something bad to happen to you would be extremely unusual. Overdoses happen all the time, though to categorize the phenomenon as "easy to happen" is not entirely accurate.

Fentanyl really changed things in this regard. If we are not inc;luding Fentanyl in our discussion, overdosing is really not an easy thing to accomplish. People do not say, take 30mg Oxycodone every day, then take 40mg Oxycodone the next day only to drop dead of an overdose. Totally shooting from the hip here, she's probably gonna need at least 300mg Oxycodone to really push her close to the cliff.

I have no warnings regarding the specific stuff you asked in your post. It's all pretty reasonable. I have to give you the disclaimer though. This practice of combining drugs like this is a good way to end up in a bad place.

I don't know you personally, though I've been following your posts for the past week or two. You don't seem to be after legitimate stability with your medication. You seem to be more dedicated to feeling good. You're not going to be able to keep this going for long. Gabapentinoids only work for the first week or so when taken in "recreational" doses. Not only that, the benefit seems to drop precipitously on day 4 of continued usage.

You need to be approaching your life with a little more strategy if you want to keep going as you are. I'm not patronizing you. I'm sure you know a lot more about certain stuff than myself. I just happen to have a lot of experience with this stuff.

You know that these drugs have a limited lifespan. You need to to your very best to use only as much as is needed for you to function properly. I know Gabapentinoids well. There is an effective dose, then there is the euphoric dose. If you're getting wicked euphoric from taking your Gabapentinoids, then it's my belief that you're taking too much.

Let me know in your other thread if there is anything that I miseed.
