Team I’m reaching out for help. I’m not doing well. I have chronic sores that appear on my tongue making it hard to chew, speak, or even think. It’s the forefront of my pain these days not to mention the chronic lower back pain I have from breaking my tailbone at a younger age. Anyways. This week the tongue sores/flair up whatever you call it is getting excruciatingly bad and I have tried 8 different mouth rinses from compounding pharmacies as well as ibuprophem to Oxycodone. Obviously the opiates help but I don’t have access to regular opiates anymore. I’m ready to start back on my subutex/buprenorphine since the pain is causing my cravings to go haywire… like 5mg of clonazepam and I’m just bored and don’t care which I guess works but I’m looking for the cause/root of these chronic tongue issues. So I guess with all of that being said my questions are 1. What can I take (legal or illegal, prescription or not to help with and undiagnosable condition as well as what would yall think the cause is. I’ve hear so many things from (doctors) allergies to sunflower all the way to cannabis. I even was told by my doctor that since I use toothpicks they were causing it. Second question is if you have any ideas of things to try or doctors to see please let me know. I have done an elimination for almost everything and nothing seems to calm/deplete the pain/symptoms. I have been a long time opiate and benzodiazepine user but have used everything else that’s mainstream when it comes to to drugs. Haven’t gotten too deep into different rc/ isomers etc… anyways. Please help your boi is in pain and ready to jump from ketamine treatment back on kratom and maybe even subutex if needed. I’m dying over here…

Apologies for the mistyping I’m extremely upset

This past year was my first experience with canker sores on my tongue. I had a broken tooth that would rub against my tongue and cause the sores. I could not eat, hardly talk, it hurt to swallow. You don't realize how much you use your tongue until something like this happens.
The things that I found the most helpful:
1. Salt water rinse several times a day (this is #1 for a reason)
2. Any kind of orajel or tooth and gum pain numbing medication.
3. Canker covers. They're these little round tabs that are made to stick to the sore and create a gel film. It's also supposed to significantly reduce the healing time.
4. Ibuprofen and Tylenol if the pain is severe. You might get rebound pain from the opiates. It could just make it feel worse.
5. Peroxide mouth wash. I used this the last time I got canker sores and I swear I was only in pain for a day or two.

Usually a dentist would handle mouth sores. If nothing else works, make an appointment.

Hey bud.

Are these tongue maybe a allergic reaction unless like @rentedbythehour mention you have a sharp tooth cutting the tongue and causing. But you mentioning multiple sores.

When you said opiates/opioids helped, was that just with pain or actually clearing it up making them smaller or healing?

But I would also advise seeing some dentist or just gp to get an idea?

You also mentioned it started last week, have you made any changes to medicine or food or something

Thank you so much for all of the tips. Going to try salt water again and canker sore covers (if I can get them on the tip of my tongue)

Unfortunately I’ve been to dentists, doctors, ents, and tongue specialists so I’m kind of out of options. Just got bloodwork for the 4th time last week. It’s been going on for a year

I’ve thought it could be due to using high amounts of cannabis/oil but I’ve also stopped and they have not. It’s bizarre I’ve eliminated almost everything I even stopped with nicotine 3 weeks ago.

Yes rebound pain is a thing but the Ibuprophem kratom helps a lot. Obviously I know kratoms a slippery slope but I’m not one to learn from others unfortunately. Thanks again and I’m going to try salt today. I just got mouthwash with dexamethazone steroid so hooongnthat will help. Doubt it though. Seems like it’s something from the inside of me causing inflation. I also get acne on my back and swollen red eyes. It especially pops up with my stomach pain. Feel like I’m chasing a ghost. 🤦

They didn't diagnose anything? What did they say?

Are these sores white in color? I doubt it's the same thing, but I used to get sores on my tongue that were white with red specks. It was chemical irritation from chain smoking cigarettes while drunk.

They are patches of inflamed taste buds typically on the front and sometimes sides of tongue. It looks like something called geographic tongue but the spots are more isolated. Sometime the “island” of inflamed buds get a white line around them… when they get inflamed I feel like they get worse when ingesting cannabis but then again I’ve taken weeks off from smoking and eating cannabis and they still appear. All doctors say it’s either a deficiency or an immune thing but haven’t diagnosed. They want to biopsy but it keeps moving around my tongue so they don’t know where to take from. Also could be from rubbing against my teeth I suppose but that would be odd. Only started happening after I got COVID for the second time so I’ve also heard could be a side effect of long covid… I even quit smoking nicotine for this and still no luck. Going to do a cannabis allergy test soon

man this has been a mfer... i use dexamethazone wash, red light therapy i just started, something called trental which is an oral tablet but havent had luck yet and it makes my stommach hurt... even this antiinflamatory/vasel constrictor get but nothing seems to work except ibuprofen... how much ibuprophen can i take daily if thats the only thing that seems to been helping along with kratom?
