Hi,

As the title says, or more clear, does smoking weed decreases the hypnotic/sedatives effects of benzos?

Thanks

Me and my gf always suspected that cuz we could feel it. But tripsit says it decreases the effects

i dunno 100%. weed causes some people anxiety so maybe for those people.. but usually with most people the weed anxiety doesn't last that long and the benzo will still be working when the weed wears off.

weed can be hypnotic and sedative for some people though. people respond to weed differently, so it's not really cut and dry imo.

I am not familiar with "tripsit" but clearly whoever wrote that doesn't know what they are talking about. @foodcrisis have you ever experienced the combo? I understand where you are coming from and sometimes experience anxiety from thc but overall it will amplify the benzos.

i kind of get a buzz that goes in the opposite way as the benzos for like a half hour to an hour and then it goes away. i think what i experience for a buzz some people probably translate to anxiety... weed definitely picks me up for a bit after smoking it.

In General, no. Benzos tend to make cannabis moreish if anything enabling users to smoke or vape more without getting that dreaded bad time from over doing it according to their tolerance level.

Its more of a generalised MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS warning i think . I would strongly advise that you never take a high dose of benzos and a high dose of cannabis together though, i would say it would increase the risk of something bad happening

Benzos dont really synergize with Cannabis real well. As it seems that THCs euphoric, creative and energizing effecs are surpressed. And only the relaxating effects of both synergize.

I experience no anxiety from cannabis btw so a benzo ruines the high imo.
The combo is like ham and eggs.

@emkee_reinvented In my opinion, the creative, energizing, and even to an extent euphoric effects of cannabis are what some people experience as anxiety. And, this is from someone who has experienced both.

With alcohol, not doing some cannabis, increases the risk I get some dumb idea and can follow it through.

When I blaze on benzos, it is kinda nice, but I just can't quite get "high there", and I might find myself annoyed at how the cannabis high just falls short.

Do you mean like impulsive 0 fear decision making , i meant cannabis and benzos can make people more prone to doing things like falling asleep with an electric heater on and burning their home down with them in it

Personally falling asleep without turning everything of, locking windows/ doors, taking of clothes.
Tiding the living room before going to bed.

To me mostly happens on that combo: Benzo + Alcohol (Cannabis always involved btw),
not on Benzos and Cannabis alone.

I use to get anxiety from Cannabis when younger - or when my tolerance is low, so a low dose benzo would take the edge off. But if anything, it made me much kore sleepy. I don't think they are metabolized at the same set of cytochromes, but could be wrong.

Hey, what's up? Couldn't sleep so, here I am. I hope your job and other things in your life are well

It's weird, here I am trying to get tired and then what do I see?

So, you are a mod. Well at least I know a few people on BL, who've done the same thing.

I know what a telegram is, but they still use them?🤣 Anyway, I wish you the best on your job, hopefully you will enjoy your new position and all will go well.

I just need to thank you real quick because I have no friggin' clue what "telegram moderator" means and now I have a mystery on my hands.

It's a smart phone App ... not a message using the invention Samuel Morse created
