Does methamphetamine or Rx amphetamines increase serotonin and/or is it an SSRI?

Ok, thank you very much. Do you have any idea how much low dose 10 or 20mg Ritalin Rx Ritalin increases serotonin? What does effux mean? I'm going to ask my psychiatrist for extended release today.

Ritalin has essentially no interaction with SERT and is generally safe to be combined with serotonergic drugs, unlike the amphetamines

Efflux just means that serotonin is going out of the cell through the transporter, normally the transporter only brings serotonin into the cell but the amphetamines interfere with this process

Thank you very much. What is Ritalin if it isn't amphetamines? And what is Adderall? I thought they were all amphetamines.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin) is a phenethylamine but not an amphetamine. Adderall is a 3:1 mix of Dextro and levoamphetamine. Methylphenidate is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor and amphetamine is a reuptake inhibitor/releaser. They both achieve the end result of more dopamine in the brain but with a slightly different mechanism.

Ritalin is a unique class of drug, but it most closely resembles cocaine or cathinones (bath salts) in effect, it releases dopamine at a relatively slower rate and is less drastic in effect.

Adderall is amphetamine, it's literally in the name, it's a combo of L/D amphetamine HCL (sub-racemic.... true racemic amphetamine would be street paste in EU). Ritalin is methylphenidate, and is not chemically structured like an amphetamine.

Many chemicals can have similar stimulatory effects, but are also drastically different on a chemical level. Amphetamines are probably the most common stimulant of the last 50 years, but they sure as hell aren't the only one or the standard.

Thanks so much, you're brilliant and the best!
Oh, do either of those affect microdosing psilocybin?

I apologize for asking so many questions but how does Adderall affect serotonin levels then?

You're so intelligent

I'm researching everything to deal with lifelong trauma and get off meth, thanks so much.
if you are literally trying to substitute lesser stimulants for meth, then I would indeed stick to amphetamine based drugs

maybe look into stuff like lisdexamphetamine, which is less abusable but gets the job done

methylphenidate would be less useful for meth post acute withdrawal than amphetamine (adderall/vyvanse/etc)

Can you please tell me other things that have a strong stimulatory effect? Maybe, anything that doesn't have xylazine in it?
