Nitrous tanks

I am migrating from the 8g carts to a tank. I am seeing a 1200 g tank that is competitively priced with a 600 case of carts so I am giving them a shot. Does anyone have the spec for the adapter that screws into the tank? I see the whole regulator assembly at various price points with spotty reviews. I have a bunch of commercial regulators with standard 1/4" NPT inputs. I am looking for an adapter that screws one of them into a tank.

Its a funky size. And yeah, those cheap regulators for them on amazon aren't great.

I was trying to figure it out myself a while back, and the information isn't so easy to find. I believe it *might* be a M11x1.0 with 1/8" BSPP thread. It is not a common size.

I have a tank, I just measured and took pictures just FYI:





There is a higher quality italian regulator that I believe fits these but you won't find it on Amazon etc.
 
That is what I found too. I bought a mid range regulator so I will know soon. I may just try to get the fitting off if it isn't part of a casting I have lots of regulators. If I get this going I might fire up my old rig with the electric solenoid valves. You get a hose and a switch. ;)
 
After doing a little research I found at least one mail order supplier that uses tanks with the normal cylinder valve for standard regulators, the other companies use the tiny tanks with the weird small threads. So if you want a standard tank they are out there and the prices do appear competitive, they have an option to rent and return tanks with deposit or buy your own tank but that option is a bit more expensive for refills. You can even get up to 20 lbs tanks with the standard valve

That is a non starter here. The welding stores will not fill a tank unless you are a licensed Dr. or can show some other good reason. I have a 20# tank that I just ended up swapping for a CO2 because nobody would fill it.
It was good while it lasted tho ;)
I still have a 326 valve I could screw in it if a source became available.
 
I also noticed this giant tanks appearing in head shops. Catch me up with the regulator and its purpose? When I asked the guy he said basically it comes with a tube that attaches straight to your mouth. Sounded sketch but it was cheap AF?

Is there some way to introduce oxygen into this mixture to feel the true effects of nitrous? If I got the brand name and size could we figure out what would be hypothetically needed to get it going with some oxygen mixed in....assuming I can find the correct tools. *im pretty good at that, im sure you guys are too so not overestimating but I see hope lol.
 
^^^I posted a picture in another thread of my setup, which uses a tank with a regulator and mixes in oxygen with an oxygen concentrator. The regulator regulates flow. I was in the process of making a timer using a propane flow timer. Was even considering buying some medical grade flow meters off of ebay.

But I only used my current setup about a dozen times after all the effort and expense creating the contraption.

I find these days that my skin burns (parasthesia) afterwards and I feel a bit anxious after a heavy session. I have injectable B12, didnt help much. Probably for best, nitrous is quite addictive (I used to use it daily for over a year, about a decade ago).

I'm not talking about welding stores. I found an online store that ships them

Wow. This is the Fred Sanford version. I am probably just going to screw the adapter from the regulator into the soda bottle, just like the instructions say.

The regulator really just takes the 700 PSI or so from the boiling nitrous and takes it down to a more reasonable 30 PSI or so. The regulators I saw come with an adapter you screw into a soda/cream bottle. Then it is just a giant soda charger, do with it what you to. I like a hose. Even back in the prehistoric days when I was using a balloon as a regulator/accumulator, we still used a hose.

you guys are eons ahead of me on this. ^That pic looks alot like what they are selling, it wasn't no 20 lbs and id bet the farm you just toss em when you're done.

I like that one with the oxygen tank; can a normal human legally buy an oxygen tank? (I don't see why not, I just never see em on shelves *and why would I*)

Than there are a thousand more "how" questions..... as I was never mechanically inclined. Is there a how to on making one of those things you could link me to? I could buy all of that equipment; than id be all like what? Clamps and hoses and tape "Mechanic!" and he woulnd't want that job lol.

Maybe I should just forget it. B12 is important, i was under the mistaken mythos that the oxygen would "negate" the b12 deficiency.

Say somehow this gets off the ground; How often is too often? How long is too long at once? In terms of bodily harm.

Really I just want to experience the 'real' nitrous high not the "ohh fuck im light headed, yup tinnitus it worked, why am I on the ground missing a tooth? Guess thats over" *i never fell and lost a tooth but you get it.

Shipping is a total of $150, 100 gets it to you and 50 takes it back. The tank is a rental with deposit

I hope this isn't price discussion, I know it's probably skirting the line so I'll edit if need be

This is my setup:



Oxygen concentrator and nitrous tank.

And correct, supplemental oxygen doesnt help with B12 depletion. I bought some injectable B12, but the issue is that the body can't adequately use the B12, even if supplemental B12 is added.

I think the extent to which that is a problem can vary on an individual level (based on genetic susceptibility to the effects of B12 depletion). For instance, say you are destined in life to develop multiple sclerosis when you're 45, it probably isn't a good idea to mess with nitrous. Of course, no one knows if they are destined for such a thing, but I believe these are the kind of people who are more likely to develop serious problems when abusing nitrous (sometimes even for a fairly short period). I used to abuse it heavily and I am fine (i think), but other people who abused it as hard as I did have wound up in a wheelchair. That said, despite not falling prey to a severe complication, I'm sure I'd be better off healthwise not having abused it daily for so long (I averaged 50 charges a day for over a year -- thats nearly a pound of nitrous oxide gas every day).

That said, that was years ago. These days, with my new setup, i notice my skin feeling tingly with a burning sensation after using nitrous, which led me to stop. Also left me feeling tense and anxious afterwards.
 
holy wa. That is cool. The b12 thing sucks though.

Lol if I ever make the leap Ill get more into it. It is just a pipe dream since I saw it at the store. Looks like alot of ingenuity is required.

Shoot im still workin on gettin a co2 tank and paintball fill attachment as the nearest place is 3 hours and the college has a team. Seems like easy bank......oh yea they use compressed air now, nvm. Still need a o2 tank though lol.
