Tramadol potentiation

Is there anything that I can use that's not overly complicated and doesn't involve any other drugs to potentiate?

I read somewhere a while ago on here that calcium chews/tums help.. as well as fatty foods and caffeine. I always notice when I vape it helps enhance the euphoria for a bit. I'm currently taking 125 mg's a night. I take 50mg an hour apart (50mg's I take on an empty stomach) from the other 75 mg (that I take 10 minutes before food).

Is there a way to potentiate the drug without taking more, and somewhat safely? I've read some dangerous things about drinking grapefruit juice with trams but figured I'd ask. People here seem pretty educated.
 
nothing you can really take without adding in something like hydroxyzine(better than benadryl) or cimetidine HCl for example
and GFJ wont help unless its a benzo or something
 
I'd assume any CNS depressant would potentiate it, caffeine sounds like it will make your comedown awful because of tramadols serotonergic effects (but maybe I'm just paranoid).

CYP2D6 inhibitors like cimetidine or hydroxyzine will weaken the opioid effects of taking tramadol by preventing the metabolism of tramadol to O-desmethyltramadol, and will increase the stimulant/serotonergic effects of taking tramadol by keeping unmetabolized tramadol in your system for longer.

Common tramadol potentiators are gabapentin, lyrica, and soma.
 
Best way to do it.

Take 400mg of tagamet (cimetidine) 45 mins before the tramadol
Also take a small amoung of dxm (30-50 mg) 45 mins before
Take two benadryl 20 mins before along with 2 tums

Eat the tramadol

About 15 minutes after ingestion, eat a meal...

This routine has always helped me get the most out of my tramadol/other opiate. Safe travels. Respect the drug.
 
^Do you not read the posts of others before posting your own? Why is that the ideal way of potentiating tramadol (not other opioids), and include some basic pharmacological reasoning if you want to backup your claims. I'm calling out misinformation in general, not you personally, seahawks.
 
I've been taking trams for years. Here's my experience. Eating will ruin a tram buzz. Redosing every 2-3 hours helps, but all at once gives that little kick so you can guess which one I prefer. Trams make it hard to pee. Once in a while they make me super sleepy. They help with mild pain only. I have two broken legs from a car accident Feb ,,2017 and I only get trams, Lyrica, and sometimes Tylenol 3. Soon trams will be the most I can get in Ohio
 
U need caffeine, really. Caffeine was showed to potentiate analgetic effects, nothing that inhibit cyp2d6 but i found out weak cyp2d6 inhibitors are not problem, strong one like wellbutrin are end of tramadol.
Next, nicotine significantly raise monoamime neurotransmittion in people on tramadol.
I prefer black tea, for me it works better most prefer coffee. Don't take anything like promethazine, any phenotiazines or antipsychotics...low dose citalopram or vortioxetine add a little magic to high but be careful....i take Levetiracetam and this prevents tramadol seizures but if u dose more than 300-400mg, smoke, drink caffeine and take antidepressants,, u are going to need some benzodiazepines to be safe. Modafinil is great with tramadol but first take tramadol and +- 2 hours later take modafinil.

Levetiracetam you hope will prevent seizure's, assuming you are taking more then the maximum dose of 400 mg Tramadol a day. Might work? But ime Valproic Acid (VPA) prevented seizure's. 1-st line med.

Levetiracetam not, its a a 3-rd line med with worrysome psychiatric side effect's. And it never prevented a seizure when I had them 3. And I don't even take anything that could induce one, like Tramadol a.o.

After switching to VPA no more seizure's.
Or simply a Benzodiazepine with anti-convulsant properties will do. Most Benzo's have them.
Or keeping to the max dose of Tramadol.
 
It sounds weird, but I figured out if you take Methylphenidate or Cocaine with Tramadol it will get you higher. It's called "Speedballing".

Levetiracetam 1000mg prevented seizures even on 2000+mg of tramadol. And i never had seizure in the day in which i took Levetiracetam. Pregabalin did exact opposite...

After my 2-nd seizure, caused by insomnia + stress (and Booze).

The ambulance guy gave me Levetiracetam, why?
It's a 3-rd line medication (with warnings from the Psychiatric society to limit its use), VPA/ Lamotrigine are 1-st line, and work just fine.

Levetiracetam messes with your sleep, gives vivid hellish nightmare's, your unable to come (worse as VPA) and as bonus makes you very aggitated the whole next day through (Kepprage).
And it didn't stop my 3-rd seizure and presumably neither the 4-th and 5-th.

Now i am nosepicking but have you actually taken 2000 mg. of Tramadol without 1000 mg. Levetiracetam and had a seizure?
Or are you speculating. And are just not that prone to get them even at 5 times the max allowed dose.

Risky stuff Tramadol IMO, turned what was allready a bitch into a witch with daily dosing. Its known for changes in personality, its a pharmaceutical coctail. Kratom or o-DSMT imo are better, the latter though is quite strong (a bit to close to a real opiod for my liking but great for after dental surgery).

Pregabalin, which once was prescribed to me for GAD takes 2 hour's to start working. So preventing a seizure it won't, but its listed as add-on med for Epileptic's, never knew it can also cause seizure's.

Clobazam, an a-typical Benzo. Which only bind's to the anti-convulsant and anti-anxiety subunit's. That was a superiour seizure prevention med.
And the only Benzo that did't share the profile all other Benzo's share. An oddball, to bad they were seldom available due to shortage's.

So when a addiction dr. decided i was addicted to them, how he came to that conclusion? He stopped the prescription and declared me healed from Epilepsy?

While giving everybody Magnesium Oxide as Mg. supplement. Pointing out his lack of knowledge.
A simple search would reveal its a laxative, with poor BA, coincidently its also the cheapest form.

I do not want to rain on any parades (who? Me?) but there are a


couple of things that jump out from this thread, three really:

First: What is the metabolic net from vaping it?

Second: There is a very low ceiling between euphpria and possibly fatal seizures.

Third: How much of its euphoria rests in the SSRI component(s)?

Which leads to a fourth question: If you do not have a real demarcation between its opioid & SSRI aspects how can you think of potentiation?
 
Getting back to the topic of the thread, I find that caffeine seems to increase the effect of tramadol a little, but I'm looking for a drug that will complete it... because today I took 600mg of pregabalin and 500mg of tramadol and I don't feel anything, a very weak effect.

Yea for sure caffeine can potentiate tramadol … as bizarre as it sounds I’m convinced orange juice does as well. I know that’s not a specific medication but just thought I would add that. Also benzos can compliment tram for sure in my experience.

If anyone else has anything to add I’d be interested to hear as well
 
Yes, benzos can be good although for me it ruins some of the effect of tramadol but it complements it quite well anyway. I took 2mg of clonazepam a while ago and I feel fine. (I don't recommend the doses I mentioned above, maybe I'm not prone to seizures)
I've taken carisoprodol and the effect of both together feels like it's enhanced. Although I've had some problems and overdosed combining these drugs in the past, maybe I'll get something out of carisoprodol.
