Just leave it man, there's no point.
These people, you'll never get them to understand.
If someone thinks the killing is justified because destroying Hamas is the purpose, then they'll never change their mind, it will not happen.
Maybe it's the same the other way around, but the numbers are the numbers and there's plenty of proof that a large part of the Israeli government are total nutjobs who won't stop. And the key difference with Hamas is that they can execute, Hamas has no shot.
We're on the right side of history, I guess that's all that matters right![]()
I don't care for the terminology either man if I'm honest, same with genocide. Something for the courts to decide. And I mean, when used it will always quickly separate the two camps who will immediately disregard anything the other says, counterproductive.can you help me out Buzz? I keep hearing the phrase ethnic cleansing, but no one can ever answer which ethnicity it is that is being cleansed?
It's almost as if the idpol folks in the west have latched on to the phrase as a way of leveraging peoples emotions.
I mean, if you look at actual historical instances of ethnic cleansing and genocide they aren't precipitated by terror attacks and hostage-taking, are they?
Oh, I forgot to read this part, apologies.I mean, if you look at actual historical instances of ethnic cleansing and genocide they aren't precipitated by terror attacks and hostage-taking, are they?

Tbh not much that you or anyone has said has convinced me that genocide is happening. Maybe this is a "crippled one liner" but none of you have answered how a growing population like Palestinians are being genocided. And there is the inherent bias in calling this genocide even before the conflict really kicked off and then using the conflict as the main evidence of genocide. That is confirmation bias. Not saying you've done this, but others have. While being hesitant to completely immerse myself into this nutjob of thread, I am glad to see genocide/war crime deniers being pretty much cornered after all, left with crippled one-liners that won't tolerate any closer inspection. They just have to catch up with everything that has happened
proof that you can just make stuff up with no basis in reality. I don't think that war crimes are being committed by Israel.
collective punishment, prohibited under one of the geneva conventionsExplain how cutting off the water or power you supply to an enemy that has massacred your innocent civilians is a war crime
by making yourself look silly?making you guys look silly
You just don't read the shit you are pointed or somehow neglect all the content of what you readMaybe this is a "crippled one liner" but none of you have answered how a growing population like Palestinians are being genocided.

I get the feeling that you think this is an emotive argument with too much sunk cost to withdraw from, but I'm telling you, and have tried to in countless posts most of which are ignored, why I believe what I do. I'm not doing it in bad faith or to avoid losing an online debate- I think the facts support what I'm saying. It's not even as simplistic as supporting Israel, its about understanding the truth about Hamas and what sort of existential threat jihadist fanatics represent any Western oriented society.
How is it a shitty point? Becauaebgoes right to the heart of your claim and totally undercuts it. Maybe I'm too stupid to understand, but please use simple language and explain genocide and ethnic cleansing in light of the huge population growth in Gaza. I keep mentioning the point because you guys insist that somehow bulldozing graveyards is similar to, say, the Holocaust.it's amazing how @swilow keeps doubling down on that really shitty nonpoint, for like months now

the links can be clicked with the mouse cursor and they will open up in your browser. They still have much to lose; not everyone is against them globally as of yet; which also makes their position a lot better in international court against charges of genocide. And fascists also could lose support in their own country, because a lot of Israeli people are suspicious or hostile towards their own government and army. Not fucking up everything also costs way less bombs. There also possibly isn't enough reason to kill every single one, if political and other goals are achieved otherwise. Think about it; fascists like enemies. It distracts people from real issues. So why would you even want to kill everyone, then? Just keep the population barely alive for annual bloodbath or whatever people want. This argumentation of yours is really weak, as is calling ad hominem my hint to get your head out of your ass. It is a really long stretch.

WHAT IS GENOCIDE?
The 1948 Genocide Convention defines genocide as crimes committed "with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such."
Three cases so far have met international courts' threshold: the Cambodian Khmer Rouge's slaughter of minority Cham people and Vietnamese in the 1970s, who were among an estimated 1.7 million dead; the 1994 mass killing of Tutsis in Rwanda that left 800,000 dead; and the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of some 8,000 Muslim men and boys in Bosnia.
Criminal acts comprising genocide include killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, creating conditions calculated to destroy them, preventing births, or forcibly transferring children to other groups.

Why genocide is hard to prove
With the rise of the term “genocide,” scholars began to use it for historic mass atrocities like the Gold Rush-era mass murders of Native Californians by Anglo settlers, China’s sterilisation of its Uyghur minority in 2020, and the Ottoman Empire’s slaughter of as many as 1.2 million Armenian Christians in 1915 and 1916.
Still, far fewer mass barbarities have been designated genocide under international law. While the law is clear about what constitutes a genocide, its critics argue that the legal standard for genocide is so specific that it is almost never applicable to mass killings or brutal acts perpetrated against a group.
According to the UN, “The intent is most difficult to determine....Cultural destruction does not suffice, nor does an intention to simply disperse a group.”

How genocide is defined—and why it’s so difficult to prove
The gravest of international crimes was outlawed in the 1940s after the atrocities of the Holocaust. But it took decades to convict anyone of genocide—and the...www.nationalgeographic.co.uk
If it looks like a genocide, smells like a genocide and tastes like a genocide, it probably is genocide.
Does someone do that? Even if that was irrelevant point, I want to see you quoting where someone has claimed bulldozing graveyards is similar to holocaust of jews during WWII and before that. I pointed out that bulldozing graveyards is one of the genocidal acts in the long list of genocidal acts that makes genocidal act to look like genocidal act, and only connection was that what happened in the german in 1929-1945 was genocidal act and I did not directly even refer to that as far as I can remember. If you want further proof or argumentation of genocidal acts, move the mouse cursor over my account name and press left mouse button. Then, you can, applying the same mechanics of mouse and interface function, select "latest activity" or "postings" and open in the new tab everything that I have said in this thread over time by clicking the right mouse button, hovering over the correct title whatever it is in your preferred language in the panel that has opened up, and pressing left mouse button. You can also do that with anyone else that has contributed to thread over 183 pages. You can also simply just read all over the whole thread. I am no certain repeating what has already proven to be useless is making any difference only because it is repeated tho.I keep mentioning the point because you guys insist that somehow bulldozing graveyards is similar to, say, the Holocaust.
