All the interesting rituals of picking a team. I am sure if we analyzed it only a few comport the stats in their head and make a logical pick. But I can tell you when you pick an underdog and they win the excitement level is high.It's an interesting phenominon.
A healthy balance of confidence and self doubt has been my ideal.. leaning toward doubt allows for learning and leaning toward confidence allows for application of those learnings.
However I've noticed it's hardly ever a balance. It's usually one or the other. And it comes in waves. Days, months, years.
But I always wondered if there is anyone that just watches NFL and does not have a favorite team. Or a team they want to win more. Not sure such an emotional detachment would make the games enjoyable at all. But as I get older the whole "radical fans" things where people dress up and cheer their team seems beyond silly.
