Recovery The 2023 Recovery Thread

Sorry to hear how down you are, have you tried melatonin it knocks me out, however I usually take a lot which is not recommended.
Anyways, I wish I had some better advice than read and listen to music. I hope you can recover mentally quickly.
yeah man i take melatonin and an odd antihistamine, chlorpheniramine. i’ll get some sleep tonight just fine but just the mood swings was getting to me earlier. it’ll be a mental battle for awhile but nothing i can’t handle.

day 10- woke up & in the bath, juust chatting to my morning mates and family, listening to music. listening to some ambient music & enjoying the day so far.

got a lot more cleaning stuff to do today. dunno what i’ll do other than that.

much love

This is going to be a long cold winter. To much crap to do and no energy to any of it, at least the cigarette making machine, along with the fact that the tubes are about a penny a piece, and cigarette tobacco in bulk is relatively cheap, make this a cheap bad habit.

October in Michigan is never this miserable, I guess it rained all summer, so why shouldn't fall be a bitch too. Why do depression and laziness go hand in hand
because we as a society base our value upon our productivity and when intrinsic productivity goes down, our brains tell us we’re lazy and depressed and fucked :( i suffer from that as well.

that’s sick you roll your own fags. i wanna start doing the same, i just wanna get quality tobacco bc i hate cheap cigarettes. i smoke marlboro red shorts typically

So true. They do. I think there are some CBT techniques that acknowledge this and use it as a basis for recovery rather than just throwing drugs at it. I think the idea is to set small attainable goals to establish habits that you can build on. Might be worth a Google if you're bored.

Get a decent machine, not those cheap plastic joint rollers, tubes and find a place that sells decent loose cigarette tobacco. I have gotten used to the Gambler brand, it is better than really cheap cigarettes, but not as good as Marlboro, but the money saved I got used to them, it can take a little while to getting the right a mount of tobacco in the machine. To much and you can't barely puff, to little and they last about 4 hits. Also if you can, I haven't found one near me, find somewhere that has really good cigarette tobacco. Gambler I have gotten use to, besides it is a fraction of the price and I tend to smoke less.

The internet might have good tobacco, and tubes are cheap, just get a machine that will last. Find a decent tobacco store

@Jnowhere I am so Happy to hear from you. I am glad that you are doing so well. Your tobacco machine sounds amazing.

I guess we are supposed to say you shouldn't smoke it isn't good for you. So maybe just stay busy and cut back. 😁

Sounds awesome fun. Nice of you for sharing !! <3💚

Hey everyone, my last dose was yesterday . Got home and gave my stash up. I appreciate all of the check ins they mean so much and beyond appreciative. I got this! My wife is doing sooo much better so she will be helping me and that is a huge motivator for me. For me day 3-4 get difficult that’s when the super lethargy and crazy thoughts come in.

Much love! Time to rest and a bunch of movies. Screw this fent this he’ll ride has gone on way too long. The withdrawals really chain you up because we get anxious of going thru the valley of death. Thanks to everyone here this is the positive power of this place.

Hey Anthony6621 it is. great to hear from you, I've been praying and hoping you would use those 9 days off of work to get off fent. I certainly hope you have some comfort meds.
Watching movies is a great way to kill time and try to forget the pain, mental and physical. Stay strong

Hey Kiely you are right, I shouldn't smoke, but at least making my own saves money, good cigarettes are close to10 dollars a pack here unless you buy in bulk, 3 packs or a carton. Still around 8 dollars a pack for good ones. Still I wonder if the people here use pipe tobacco which is real cheap, but tastes worse, much worse. Tobacco shops all over Detroit suburbs, I hate my house smelling like what bars use to smell like. I smoke less making my own, even though I have learned to make them as good as store bought, but avoiding finding good tobacco so it will be easier to quit. A big bag and 2 dollars for 200 tubes lasts a while

Shouldn't have taken a pain killer late, was stupid enough to take melatonin thinking it would relax me knocked me out woke up a took a pain killer, now I will be up late, my bad
Never learn, oh well

good morning guys, just up listening to some afrofusion music, been on that wave a lot recently haha. took my kratom, in my morning bath waking up, having coffee.

mum & i got the entire house cleaned yesterday which is really nice.

fuck yeah. day 11 i think here?

Just walked 6.89km through the suburbs at night.

Total of 10.18km today.
Yesterday, I walked 11.03km.

That's 27,000 steps in 2 days!
I've got to try and keep this up.
I'm not getting any younger.

Stay healthy, people.
Eat well and get plenty of exercise.
It helps - a lot - with withdrawals.
