Why is it that meth is not popular in Florida like the midwest, west coast and south like say in Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Tampa people stay away from meth.

There is lots of drugs in say Tampa and Sarasota but why is meth not popular there where it seems that every one is using pain pills and crack there than say meth.

When you’ve got pure cocaine everywhere, you don’t reach for it..

Actually that’s how it was where I grew up too (in Midwest, but an isolated oasis) we had such high quality cocaine and heroin that no one felt the need to ever stoop to using a drug relegated to rednecks. Of course now meth is everywhere but not in the 00’s it wasn’t for us. The only guy I knew who did it was from Nebraska go figure lol.

Wait really? I can't imagine Florida not having a dangerous meth epidemic, crazy.

Is it not that most meth comes from Mexico and that is why the west coast has lot of meth is it is coming from Mexico. And most meth in Midwest and south comes from meth labs and smaller cities and communities have more meth because it cheaper to get a small house or trailer park and cook meth where the bigger cities people just live above store or an apartment and deal crack.

If you look at Florida it not cheap to by house the price of house is expensive that may be a Florida not Into meth.

May be some members who live in Florida or been to Florida can comment but meth in Florida does not seem popular like the west coast or Midwest.

I wouldn't call it dry, I mean, you can definitely get meth here if you are looking for it.

But also, this:
pure cocaine

A large portion, if not the majority, of Florida's scene is still running things like it's 1987. Club owners from all over the state have no problem talking about how much cocaine they sell (as long as you aren't a snitch).

The area of Central Florida(Orlando area) that I live in is flooded with meth. Tweekers take over the gas station down the street every night. Daytona is also flooded with meth because of the bikers. I'd say meth at this moment in these locations is more popular than opiates, if not just more blatant and visible.

I don't know which FL you're talking about, but it isn't the one I know.

METH IS EPIDEMIC from the PENSACOLA to JACKSONVILLE.

80% of the inmates in Franklin County which is Apalachicola are there because of METH.

There was an announced bust in Jacksonville late in the fall. 118 lb. Of meth.

Every time in Florida I get offered ice from randos. Meth/ice is mega easy to find down there.
But then again, I’m a full blown degenerate when on drugs, so I’ll find whatever drug I need/want wherever I may be.

Was going to say I’m in Ohio and when I was buying it a few years ago the few times I bought it it was pure ice.

But you explained that.

I heard northern Florida has more meth or it is more popular there well southern Florida its more cocaine and crack and pain killers there. And central Florida meth around Orlando and north of Tampa in pasco county.

But pinellas county and Hillborough county I hear it is mostly cocaine and crack and pain killers there.

But the Tampa area and Sarasota it is more cocaine and crack and pain killers there.

I am currently in FL and meth is everywhere. I've recently been in Jacksonville, Citrus county, Hernando county, Marion county, Pasco county, Lake county and several other places. It seems like everyone here is using something. I've seen more people on D's than fetti and almost everyone uses meth. But FL has always had drugs available. I left here in the 90s and you could get pretty much anything back then.

You may what to look at this https://americanaddictioncenters.org/blog/substance-abuse-by-city

It ranks 50 cities in the US on what cities have most meth use and what cities have most cocaine use. And what cities have least amount meth or Cocaine use.

And none of the cities in Florida made the list. The cities of Miami was rank lowest among the 50 cities along with New Orleans in Louisiana also rank really low on drug use.

I think Florida gives an illusion there lot more drugs than say California because of the conservative nature it makes news when there drug bust where has the liberal California they say not publish it on the news.

But from what I hear central and northern Florida has lot more drug use than southern Florida. A lot more drugs in Tampa Bay Area than the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area.

Well Miami was rank the lowest among the 50 cities on drug use.

where lot of the meth is north of Tampa and in places like Orlando and Daytona beach are and smaller communities north of Tampa.

I have a very hard time believing those statistics. Since it's coming from treatment centers are they looking at people in treatment or overall use? I know this is a few years out of date but I like to look at this info instead. This particular one only deals with overdose deaths. The most recent year I could find was 22. I know they also do a drug survey. They break it down by drug type, age, etc. If you look around you can find reports on just about anything from COVID to ADHD to age expectancy.

I was born and raised in FL. I left and stayed away for 24 years, about half of my life. I do know a lot of people here still. I can literally count on one hand the number of people who are sober. Actually even those people use marijuana or alcohol.

I know a few people in Jax. I thought they were joking when they told me they used coke. I had not heard of anyone using that for a long time. But I guess it's pretty popular in that area. I joked that the 90s were coming back in full force. They called Middleburg methylburg if that tells you anything. I was not even in Jax for very long and I got the run down pretty quickly. It's funny too because my time in Jax was with my mom so I was always straight while I was there. I just learned these things from talking to people.

I lived in south east FL until around 2013.

Never came across meth once. The cocaine was fire as shit during that time. Powder or crack. No idea about now. The pill mills had the state flooded with oxy 30s and heroin was everywhere too (powder…but found black tar a few times)
Miami had plenty of legit Molly.
. Good times.

Luckily I avoided the flakka epidemic of south Florida. That tells you what a fucked up state it is..that flakes would take off.

there are tons of drugs there, just look at the ppl on the street. Just not an open
Air use culture like out west

It’s probably all garbage with fentanyl now I’m guessing
