What’s your story have you recovery

Yeah I recovered fully after 18 months. From 4 injections. It was so scary first 4 months, like really really scary. I feel like the same person after 24 months post to now. However The olamzspine wothdrawal set me back and alcohol consumption also made me quite numb and scattered and shit emotions. I feel like I had a particularly bad experience from Invega, I could barely conversations with friends for 5 months and understand abstract concepts. And it caused me psychosis symptoms cos I had actually already recovered from psychosis before Invega and they gave me it because I was angry at my friend and sending ominous messages because he was being manipulative and creepy even after he knew I had the delusion he was spying on me and I was making fun of a doctor who wanted to go out with and was flirting with my case worker inappropriately so I was standing up for her in this really awkward and cute way which was hilarious haha. But 2 years after my art is the best and most emotional and trippy it’s ever been ever, and my singing ability is as it used to and my ability to feel music is just about where it used to be, but that’s because of other stuff I think like too much tv/PMO/alcohol/constant self absorption , at times though my music feeling has been off the charts the best it’s ever been. I’ve been getting quite paranoid recently, would going back on anti psychotics slow my recivery? Im also asking for my friend who’s been if Invega for 6 months but is unsure of whether APS would slow his recovery progress?

Hey there and welcome to Bluelight.

First of all, no one here is a doctor and we do not have the ability to diagnose any complications you or your friend may be having.

A lot of folks in this thread will advise not to take any anti-psychotics at all. Others may agree that sometimes in some circumstances, APs have their place. I would say the answer is probably somewhere in the middle.

Sometimes APs may be deemed as necessary if a case is severe enough but these days it is generally agreed on by patients and some doctors that APs should be taken short term and tapered off under doc's supervision once symptoms subside. However, many doctors will insist that APs should be taken for life. The challenge is finding a balance and a doctor that will allow a patient to participate in making their own treatment plan.

Of course by all means, if you are able to do anything, try to avoid ANY long acting injectable medication like Invega Sustenna, Risperdal Consta, Abilify Maintenna, etc. I think we can all agree that when injected, these types of meds are much worse than their pill form counterparts. Some people have bad experiences with pill form as well but remember that we are all different and we all have different side effects from each medication. So what may be awful for one person could be not that bad for another. But by and large, for some reason injectable medications tend to treat everyone bad.

It depends on the dose and duration

Most people who had abilify long term negative side effects went on dosages like 15mg and higher for a year or so.
People who took 20mg olanzapine long term also seem to get fucked up long term.

I met people who took clozapine for 10 years straight and they seemed to suffer less worse side effects than a single injection.

Getting paranoid in what way? Like are you having delusions someone will break into your house or do you just have bad anxiety?

Its dopamine sensitivity where after the invega shot receptors are extremely sensitive to dopamine. I gotmsome sort of neuroleptic induced psychosis during withdrawals.

I totally agree do not take injections in any form, if you really want to take AP's for delusions, paranoia, hallucinations or for pyschosis I would recommend taking pill forms for couple of months until your sympoms subside then just quit em thats my advice, not a doctor but I say this through expierence with AP's and being diagnosed as skits

Nothing worse than injections, I don't know what it is but they hit way harder on your brain.

^ unless you’re a full blown schizophrenic or psychotic it’s not good to take a pill to solve your problems anxiety, paranoia, and depression can all be dealt with without medication taking a pill to numb the problem isn’t really stopping it it’s just making it worse cause you don’t build up any coping mechanisms to handle it yourself then you end up dependent on the pill you are taking and can’t live without it since it’s hell to get off of, anxiety/paranoia can be dealt with by intense exercise you can also take natural supplements like CBD it’s not as powerful as APS and won’t numb your problem but it will help take the edge off + doing healthy sober activities will help heres some more info about pharmaceuticals this video is 3 min long. \/

I had the best time of my life, no kidding, when I was camping in the woods, I didn't take my phone with me, I wanted to disassociate myself from technology.
I've been in the woods, camping, for almost a month, and I walked there by foot for almost 10.5 hours carrying my backpack with me.
That was before I got injected.
I never felt more connected to the universe and spirituality before.
Never been happier.

I had to work, no choice I need money.
The time I had akathisia and was during hell phase, I barely held it together at my job, it was insane, probably worse time of my life no kidding.

the blood levels of invega are 1.2ng ml for me rn I had the worst of the withdrawals when it was dropping from 5ng ml to 2.5ng ml so I don’t think I’m gonna get rebound psychosis, you could have gotten psychosis from kratom, 4-FMA, SJW, cannabis or other substances you were using during recovery.

Did you experience loss of appetite at some point and lose the ability to feel full from food? I’m almost 11 months off and the “doom” started to ease up

Last night, I was dreaming and I was my healthy self. I was breakdancing (Yes, I even danced in my dream), speaking fluently and to the point with a lot of confidence. I was speaking with a girl in my dreams, it was beautiful.
That's another proof for me that our astral body remains intact, it's only the physical body that is damaged.
Again, beautiful dream, I was my healthy self, even healthier than my pre Xeplion self.

I’ve decided to stop taking melatonin, I have been taking it for the past year or so to sleep I was taking as much as 10mg then lowered it down to 5mg then 3mg then 1.5mg and tonight is my first night without it, currently experiencing insomnia has anyone dealt with this if so when does it subside?
