You ever make time to try out my "nigga whiskey from the hood" suggestion?

It more resembles a single malt scotch than an American styIe whiskey. I drink it neat, or with a splash of formaldehyde.

I haven't tried it yet. Not a big fan of single malt scotch especially ones with a charred smoky body. If it's anything like Tag on Your Toe Whiskey I'll pass

So this year I ended up making about 4 gallons (not all at once) of my eggnog with E&J VSOP + Fighting Cock 103....yeah I'm consuming thousands of calories per glass but I'm feeling the Xmas Spirit, by God!
New Year will find me 50lbs overweight, diabetic, and severely alcoholic but it's fucking worth it. Cheers!

Don't tell anyone but fighting cock I once drank that with my best friend and we were jousting but it was not gay

About 8$ a fifth for the 80 proof ,which is good enough to sip. Maybe 15$ a fifth for the 100 proof Bottled In Bond, which is just plain good to sip.

  • The spirit must be produced in a single distillation season by a single distillery (e.g., spring, from January until June; or fall, from July until December.
  • The spirit must mature in a U.S. bonded warehouse for a minimum of four years.
  • The aged spirit must be bottled at 50% ABV
Think, "Single Malt". Similar, anyway.

It's kinda become the better product of many distillery's Bourbons. Their "best foot forward". 100 proof is almost always better, I mean, they add water to get 80.

A lot of value priced Bottled in Bond Bourbons are an extremely good value. Heaven Hill had a 6 year Bottled in Bond Bourbon for about 15$ until 2019 which won all the awards for "best value".
Their latest Bottled in Bond is 7 year at 40$ in line with them going after the mid shelf market a little harder now. Now your setting it up against Wild Turkey... hmmm.

Very Old Barton at 100 proof used to be Bottled in Bond until they had a warehouse fire. Still a great tipple but they likely don't have enough 4 year meeting the first requirement now.

Thanks for explaining that it sounds like something that dates to Prohibition repeal. Just another way to make booze more expensive

Hope all is having a good night with a couple of hot bodies and a hot toddy for the body

Does most cheap whiskey come in plastic bottles in 'Murrica? That seems bizarre for some reason. Only booze that commonly comes in plastic here is shitty cider like Frosty Jack's or Ace 🤮
I'm not knocking plastic bottles, apart from they're shit for the environment and they're the reason we've all got plastic in our kidneys now.
This one's pretty good value^^

My brother once pulled out of bottle of the MacAllen 18 0r 20 anyway it was old enough to be drinking on its own.

It went down smooth in the first few moments before changing to the unmistakable peat moss of decomposing matter
