Sure, we use to call them 6 packs in a pill. One Rorer 714 felt like you slammed 5-6 beers and lasted about 6 hours until sobering up. But it felt more like alcohol than any barbiturate or benzo. Never had Soma. But let's take a look at that, we have a pill that the powers that be felt was too much "fun" to be prescribed anymore. (hey I am a jaded bastard too but that is exactly what happened! Puritanical bastards)Can you contrast the feeling and high or methaqualone against what a benzo, opipid, or soma feels like?
I also had access to Mandrax when I lived in Texas in the early 80's just after Ludes disappeared. What I did not know at the time was that along with methaqualone that Mandrax also contained diphenhydramine. I did not know that till many years later, I may have learned that here at BL. I hate diphenhydramine. But I did use a lot of Mandrax to come down from coke binges before I resorted to heroin.
My memories are from many years ago based off of when I was much younger. But I think I can explain ludes well enough.
