Hi! I’m a 39 year old woman who lives in the UK
I’ve been exploring the site for a while but only just posted
I’m recovering from codeine addictions. I have severe anxiety and have very low self esteem so got addicted because it relieved my anxiety and made me feel much more confident. Like how I should have been if I didn’t have complex ptsd.
So I managed to kick the codeine from being prescribed pregabalin and it’s just works amazingly. Problem is I’ve been on it almost 2 years and I think they want me off it. I’m panicking a lot so have been looking to buy some online. I’ve found a lot of Indian companies willing to sell to me but how do you know they are legit?!!! Any help appreciated!

Hey welcome to Bluelight. Maybe you are panicking for nothing. Are you sure you are going to lose your script?

Either way we can't help you with vendors . It's really just rolling the dice and taking your chances. Lyrica is a pretty low key drug and you are liable to get the real deal. Not like you are trying to buy heroin or meth. Lyrica is a pretty benign substance so chances are you will get good product..

The UK vastly overprescribed pregabalin (having believed the tosh that it wasn't dependence-forming. For some reason I think Wales was the area most overprescribing.

Like benzos and barbs before them - gabapentin is merely to put PTSD on hold. I don't know your story so I cannot comment but I served in Iraq with MSF and right at the end of the tour, the FV104 we were in got RPGed. Everyone else dead, me crippled. But I did learn that medication gets in the way of treatment.

BTW I'm a chill guy but I totaled a pub - the magistrate moved me STRAIGHT to the head of the queue for treatment. I don't advise it, but it shows that if your illness costs society, THEN they act.

I would advise you not ordering pregabalin from any site especially when you don’t even know if you are going to be taken off them.

What makes you think your Dr is going to stop prescribing them?

Just to add, pregabalin is physically addictive and you will gain tolerance to it. 600mg is the max dose you will ever be prescribed. Once you hit this dose that’s it, the effects will diminish and you’ll be left with having to taper down from a med that, frankly, is a tough one to withdraw from. Of course tapering slowly will help with this, but you’ll still feel it.

Another downside to pregabalin is that higher doses will increase side effects like brain fog, memory issues, poor proprioception etc will become more apparent.

My advice is talk to your Dr about your anxiety and about your C-PTSD and see what else can be done to help you with this rather than just going the pharmaceutical route. Therapy is by far the best course of action for anxiety and C-PTSD. Whilst I realise the UK have long wait times at the moment, the sooner you talk to your Dr the sooner you’ll be put on a list and actually depending where you are you might get to see someone pretty quickly.

You’ve overcome your addiction to codeine and you are no doubt a strong person so you will get through this also. We have a Health and recovery forum here which you might find some good support in.

Yes I do see what you mean with treatment. However I have been under services for almost 20 years and have not had the right therapy. The last 6 years I have been asking for it and only recently I have been accepted and that was because I moved to Scotland. You never know however if you get the right person for you who you do therapy with or if indeed it is the right therapy. I’ve been on a list for a while now so hopefully I’ll get the right support soon! I’ll certainly check out the forum. Thanks very much

Pregabalin is an odd one. It's not potent i.e. one needs to take at least 150mg to really feel much, but it's chiral and so unlikely to be produced in a clandestine lab. Not a total disaster since in bulk it only costs $60-$120/Kg.

So it wouldn't be a total surprise to see people producing fake capsules (in foil strips) made from imported powder. But the volume required for a decent profit would be large...

I’m so sorry for what you have gone through. I’m so glad you got help but it is sad that something like that has to happen to get that help. I hope you are doing better now and thank you for your advice

Pregabalin is a very weird drug, very useful med that save your ass in nerve conditions but also a very addictive shit and the most rapid thing to get a tolerance on that I have ever seen.
I highly advise you to try and taper to the minimum dose that allows you to be well.
I am taking 50 mgs a day o ly to prevent thing from happen, but have been over 600.
As other have said, don't overthink the possibility of losing your script.
There is a fellow user called Yubacity, he knows it all about both incredibly high doses and also how to overcome a pregab addiction. If you see him posting don't be shy and ask him, he is allways happy to help, great dude.

Hey just browsing through and though I would interrupt for a sec.
First welcome to BL. Hoping you are finding it comfortable.
I noticed "pregabalin highs" in thread title and it immediately brought to mind the lows of the same substance. Sure it can feel good once in a while but to be mentally and physically dependent can really leave one to be left in the rut to be crushed beneath the wheel. (Think thats a quote from a classic cant remember its gonna drive me nuts... ). Some report no big deal after sudden cessation some have a very hard comedown (I am one of those).
Talk to the prescriber and request a slow taper off pregabalin if they are gonna follow through with removing this substance from regimen.

Before looking online for the actual substance (ya dont know what you will actually get anyways its a crap shot and the popo is out there) and ya feel there is a need for a replacement maybe give phenibut a try it is longer lasting, a "supplement" in most places (legal to purchase online) but also brings with it a WD if it is not controlled. Taken every third day or once a week most have no issue. Not sure your body/mass but seems 1.5g is a common dose for "easement".

I second this big time. (not that i am anyone lol )
But after covering over my "issues" of decades with substances I found a doc (physiologist = no drugs) that has been more help as a support column than I think I ever had in my life. But she specializes in trauma and has a long list of degree acronyms after her name that I do not understand. I was kicked to her from two others that weren't up to the job so don't give up if going this route there are some sincere people out there that actually want and can help.
I do know BS when I see it and I trust her implicitly... she is very competent and I had to open up and be honest which is hard for me face-to-face. Not trying to hide anything just dont have the time for Randy Rando. hahaha
