I swear this drug sent me to hell and brought me back in pieces. This is the hardest fucking thing I’ve ever gone thru period. Make sure you’re standing straight and if I workout that’s a bonus you’ll see results fast and feel much better!
It caused hell for me and for very long time. Working out made no effect on me. How long are you off.

First, we are all different and APs have different effects on each of us. While everyone has horrible side effects from Invega and other long acting injectables, there are other APs that may not be quite as bad.

Now that I said all that, unless you are under community order, a patient should be able to have at least some say in their treatment plan. Some psychiatrists insist that APs are a lifelong medication not to cure you but to maintain stability.

There is a British psychiatrist and author named Joanna Moncrieff who advocates against long term use of APs. I actually learned about her from this thread. Dr Moncrieff does concede that many times APs are necessary for short term to knock out a psychosis but rarely long term. Things such as therapy, meditation, and community/family involvement have been shown to help just as much as medication for some people. She has many books on Amazon and in digital format. Look her up and read a book or two. That way you will be informed and armed with some knowledge when your doctor tries to convince you to take these meds for life.

I've been on APs for over 20 years but still work with my doctor to take control of what meds I will or will not try and the dosage. For me, Abilify pills give me virtually zero side effects while still allowing me to maximize my quality of life. Not everyone can be successful on Abilify, which is why I said at the top that we are all different and meds treat everyone differently. I don't think all APs have awful side effects but that is a discussion you can have with your doctor. It's okay to listen to your doctor but it's also okay to question them or even find a new doctor that is more agreeable. All this is assuming that you are not under community order, which pretty much means you would have no control over your treatment plan.
Every AP will cause more and more receptor protein deformations making them less usable, those will stack faster than they recover since you are taking AP, as time passes you will be having more anhedonia, numbness, etc. Some AP cause those protein deformations at slower rate, partial antagonist cause those deformations at slowest pace compared to other AP, that is one reason why people recover from abilify faster.

This is gonna be the year of the f'kn soldier..we're going in like f'ken Marines you understand me..

All APs are toxic garbage that should be illegal. I took abilify once and heart rate shot up to 150. You don’t need to experience anhedonia to be ‘cured’ or become stabilized. It’s just cruel.

It looks like invega makes you bound to experience andohenia forever the receptors don’t work properly long enough and end up dying off

I don’t know if it’s permanent. The half life is very long which could seem that way. I just don’t like that guy and the words he says. He is too pro - psychiatry in a thread where people have been screwed by psychiatry.

Anyway, a 49 day half life is unethical. An involuntary hold lasts on average 72 hours to 2 weeks. They can’t inject something in you that lasts for a year. It’s a human rights violation.

Yes! My gf would undress in front of me and I had zero interest. It was so frustrating for us!
I've been having a lot of sexual dreams lately and wake up horny. But a few minutes after waking up, blood flow leaves my penis. My sex drive is gone, but it exists in my sleeping state for some reason. I just hope I recover from this mess.

I’ve been feeling good for about a week I suppose.I got my first loading dose on nov 18 2021 then the second loading dose dec 2 2021. Do u stretch or use any equipment to help massage ur muscles? How long have u been off? When do u think you’ll finally b free from this drug?

I was even reading some of the previous threads and there was some idiot who wrote a lengthy post about how some of us deserved the shot because we did something bad. Then followed by blame shifting and criticizing us for being couch potato’s and not looking for work or not taking walks.

No one deserves this shot, not even the severely mentally ill. No one deserves to lose their sex drive. No one deserves to experience heart pain. No one deserves to be shown a lack of respect on these forums by tools who haven’t been injected with this poison.

The shot should be illegal. In this case, making this illegal will in fact stop it from being used in acute crisis centers. There is absolutely no fucking point to inject someone with a poison that has a 49 day half life when there are several other less severe poisons and other classes of drugs.

Oh, and without checking your post history I will just go ahead and assume you are like the mod @Jerry Atrick . Please show some respect to those who have been poisoned by Invega.
The thread is open to all members and you may not agree with their opinions. Telling people their posts are pathetic or other insults isn't needed to get your opinion across. And the " fucking retards " is a bit out of line as well.

You can hate invega all you want but the fact of the matter is that many people were forced on it and they are trying to recover. Try and keep that in mind please when you post on here.

You have another body in the dreamworld!

With how I’m feeling 8 months off and all the stories I have read it does have a permanent effect for sure I’m sure there has to be a way to reverse it but it has destroyed my cognitive ability so making a logical argument to a neurologist is nearly impossible and they will just keep sweeping it under the rug I’m not sure how anyone can be expected to go on living like this the thought of not being here is on my mind 24/7

There have been recovery stories so it doesn’t seem to be permanent. I mean, there is a possibility that the effects can be permanent in rare cases, but it’s unlikely.

I have still a long way to go in my recovery, I am not even close to 5.5 half life’s off to make a determination that it’s permanent.

But so far, I have been off nearly 4 months off and I am feeling small improvements. I am just very tired though. Yesterday I had a really long tension headache which I find to be a good sign. My head pressure seems to be going away slowly. I just wish I can have my sex drive back.

I had this to and it sucked. However i am over a year off invega and abilify and my sex drive is back to normal. No problem with getting the man to stand to attension at all now

It's a relief to hear that you had it too and recovered. Was your sex drive the last thing that recovered? It feels as if it's going to take me quite a bit more time to recover that area.

Anyone know anything about pimavanserin? may be a good antipsychotic compared to invega or others

first improvements at 16 months with 2 shots. the weight does not decrease and the penis is smaller. psychiatric abuse as I was already depressed and had no psychosis. obviously this shit shouldn't be given even to those with psychosis.. not even to a killer. in your opinion, not having psychosis, recovery is slower?? there is talk of half-life but I should be at 10 half-life and have eliminated it .. in my opinion it damaged the brain

Did you have problems with arousal on abillify? It's what I'm having there's just no arousal.

And from invega did you also have problems with ejaculation?

How long did it take for your libido to come back after stopping invega?
