Hi guys.

I'm doing some research on oxycodone, and how someone could speed up the effects.
Let's suppose someone has a immediate release pill, that should work faster that extended release.
But how to go one step further?
Though I have seen people use heroin in different ways, I never even know of someone who takes opioids.
And all I do with my benzos to make them work faster is to chew them (I can even tell some of them apart by the taste, haha!)
Now I was wondering if the same would work with oxy? How does it taste/feel?
And would that be even be something someone would do?

If ya aint gettin these drugs from pharmacy you can look to OD shortly.
Hope someone is around to babysit... may mean the dif between life or death.
So whats the real story? Are they real drugs or acquired elsewhere?

Chewing benzodiazepines, EW. I can’t even stand the taste of kratom

When I hear anyone say I “wanna speed up the effects” I instantly think just shoot it ,oxy works well when IV’ed ,I enjoy the taste of gabapentin and Valium ( I could pass a blind test easily with those two but Oxys not so much,.. I started putting the gabapentin and/or Valium under the tongue originally to make them work faster like you said but I actually enjoy the taste compared to other drugs

I just love alprazolam, period. Hell, if it ends in “olam” I probably love it a lil too much for my own good
I have a weird masochistic pleasure with some drugs. Like tasting the extreme bitterness of real alprazolam, or the extreme pain from snorting meth and resulting nose bleed. Or the nauseating smell and taste of smoking black tar heroin.

There is a weird pleasure in sudden pain or discomfort when you know you'll be high as shit afterwards as a result.

I love foul tasting drips.

Just druggy things :)

Just remember that good harm reduction is essential when it comes to IVing pills, moreso than raw drugs. Micron filter and other measures are absolutely vital or else serious damage can be done.

At my age there’s enough ensuing discomfort just from the taking of said drugs without adding to it. My body doesn’t heal so well no mo

But that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop doing them 😁 maybe that makes me a tad masochistic as well, but there’s nothing like the next-day pain that you cheerfully bear because you had an absolutely BANGING night

Yes,I make sure I have enough a week before I get my monthly script ,I learned I’m not good at holding my pills till they arrive…

In my case it's the real thing, prescribed by a real doctor in a large enough quantity that I don't have to worry about my supply. Generic Colanzepam (life's expensive enough), taken by mouth but not swallowed. A little bitter, leaving a pickling feeling on the tongue much like those bitter gummies.

The case I'm researching is fictinal, and I want to know if someone would actually chew IR oxy to speed up the effects andwhat the taste/
Mmmm I love the taste of alprazolam:)
Not bad, but I prefer clona both in taste and effects. Alprazolam makes me kind of sleepy.

Hiya, welcome to BL

Anything that goes via the digestive system takes more or less the same time. The time you spend chewing is time the pill could be going down your throat :) And they just taste bitter as hell.

But yeah I have 30+ years experience with benzos and 10 or so with oxys and I say just swallow it (unless it has the coating which does certain things and you can just break that in half).

Yeah, I got a prescription for sublingual clona once, and besides being really expensive, they acted the same way as the ones I had been using before. By then I already got a "taste for the taste" so just feeling the pill dissolve in my mouth already has it's effects.

As for my research on oxy, would snorting them (makes my nose hurt just to think of it) do the trick?

If you've got any SSRI/SNRIs (I can't remember) keep that in your mouth long enough for the coating to melt. Those are a taste sensation 😅
I heard they taste awful. But unless you need them for medical reasons... Why would anyone take them? I was prescribed antidepressants once and they did absolutely nothing. Only thing, after a few weeks on them they blocked my creativity and problem solving abilities so I was taken off then and left only with benzos.

Ill try to ask you question about oxys.
If you want a Short acting pill you can do 2 things I suggest. The easy one is to cut the pill at quarters and swallow it.
T'he second option is to convert it to powder and snort it.
There is another that i want recommend to you and its IVing the powder. But get away from Needles if you can.
Ihome you will find an answer here.
Lots of LOVE to this great comunity

I'm not sure but I think I've seen ppl say no. I don't like snorting stuff and never tried because the only time I try to make them more effective is when I'm low, and the amount of powder would be tiny plus if it doesn't work it's wasted. If you've got a large quantity why bother? The only thing that makes the hassle of crushing them up worthwhile is IVing them.

I'm given them for anxiety, which they do not help - but doctors think they do - and I'm so used to being prescribed them I just take them. They're sort of a condition of getting benzos here (and you're lucky to find a benzo-friendly doctor anymore).

But yeah they make benzos and oxys taste like candy. The taste doesn't go away either.. It sort of seeps into your tongue or something and just sits there lol. I often put the thing in my mouth and get distracted then realise it's SSRI not benzo, panic and swallow it as fast as possible.

Chewing instant release pills might make them absorb a tiny bit faster but the difference is negligible. However, drugs in gel capsules (or even worse, vegetable capsules) will work quicker if you pour them out of the capsule and swallow them, because the capsule takes some time to dissolve in your stomach before the drug is released and starts to absorb.

However, if you crush up or chew a pill and hold it in your mouth tongue your tongue or against the inside of your cheek/gums, you will absorb it sublingually. Not only will that cause it to absorb faster than if you swallowed it, it will also bypass first-pass metabolism, which will cause (most drugs) to be more potent, as first pass metabolism through your liver from your stomach will metabolize some of the drug (again, for most drugs, not all drugs), rendering it ineffective (though some drugs are prodrugs, which means that they are not active, but they metabolize into something active, so require you to eat them and undergo first pass metabolism for them to work). A good example of this is Vyvanse... it is not active, but it metabolizes into dex-amphetamine during first pass metabolism, so you have to eat it for it to work.

an example of a class of drugs where there is no benefit to taking them any way but orally is (most) benzos, because benzos are readily absorbed through the gut and have nearly 100% oral bioavability.

To directly answer your question, IR oxycodone will not absorb any signficant amount faster if you chew them vs just swallow them. Oxy has a high oral bioavailability, it is actually higher than snorting them, though snorting them makes them come on faster so they will reach peak plasma levels faster, but will wear off quicker and less of the drug will be absorbed in total than if you eat them.

Thanks for your answer.
I rember now having heard about prodrugs in one of my physiology classes so many, many years ago. Not sure if that specific term was used, though, and it was something off-topic (I studied biology, not pharmacology or medicine but the Prof was kind of into mind-alterating stuff, ha!)
