Russo-Ukrainian War v. World War 3?

vicgan2.gif

Well, from sources not aligned to Ukraine or Russia, their are supposed to be 5400 civilian casualties, 9000 Ukrainian and 4500 Russian service casualties. I should add that their at are a lot (thousands) of Russian servicemen missing. So nobody is really winning here. It DOES show that both sides have hugely overreported deaths of the others servicemen.

It's going to come down to the public support of the war in each nation.

It's now officially a war so Russian troops now face wartime criminal sanctions if they disobey. But things are changing fast - I tuned in to Watch Putin's speech but it's been delayed until Wednesday. I presume he will announce all of the territory now occupied IS Russia. That's going to be a mess.

Calm down.First is gonna die Europe. You are far enough. The States are goin' collapse too.Bye,bye world.Bye,bye Bluelight⚡🌠☄️🪓🪓🪓🔨🔨🔨

Even tactical nuclear weapons are designed to be used against concentrations of soldiers and armoured units. The front line is very long without many troop concentrations so unless many are used, it wouldn't have a huge impact on the war.

Yes but they might target civilians hiroshima style, Putin is a ruthless man let's just hope for the best.

just sounds like they're both gonna dig their heels in for a fight in the Donbas region

forget about nukes already....Putin also threatened to unload a hell on anybody who got involved in their spat with Ukraine....and here we all are, involved

they probably know by now that they're better off fighting a more concentrated fight rather than trying to cover larger areas with battles on too many fronts

the Crimea fight is gonna be interesting - that might end sooner than later but the Donbas will probably go on for a long time with some Kharkiv skirmeshes continuing just simply because of location

After making an unsupported claim that Russian occupying forces on the territory of Ukraine were opposed by "not only neo-Nazi formations, but in fact the entire military machine of the collective West," Putin moved on to the next topic: mobilization.

"In order to protect our Motherland, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, to ensure the security of our people and people in the liberated territories, I consider it necessary to support the proposal of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff to conduct partial mobilization in the Russian Federation," he said.

After laying out an extended reminder of his country's nuclear capabilities, the Russian commander-in-chief concluded that, "It is in our historical tradition, in the destiny of our people, to halt those who strive for world domination, who threaten the dismemberment and enslavement of our homeland, our Fatherland. That is what we are doing now, and it will continue."

Russia has used nuclear weapons as a threat far too many times for it to be credible. After all, Ukraine isn't Russia and Russia isn't about to be invaded (nobody would be so insane as to try) so their is no visceral threat to Russia's existence. It would also be so unpredictable and whatever else people think of Putin, he does enjoy his life and want to keep it.

I might add that that ad the very least, Russia would end up like North Korea, totally cut off from the world. Because China has disputed boarders with Russia so they would be just as keen on racking up sanctions... because from a practical perspective, China could dominate Russia far, far more easily than it could the US.

What nobody mentions is that Ukraine does seem to have a few R-36M2 missiles still in operation. No nuclear warheads, obviously, and Ukraine is not believed to be capable of developing a nuclear warhead in any useful amount of time, but it has them. I don't think they are sufficiently accurate for a conventional warhead to be of practical use against and military target.

Still, like the V2, they could be used to demonstrate that Ukraine has 'reach'. God forbid that a chemical warhead be used. With TETS as the prototype, potent GABA antagonists are synthetically simple... but that would be when we all shake hands and say goodbye wherever we are on the planet.'

A related topic is that China is directly affected by the war in Ukraine. China is still heavily reliant on Russian jet engines for it's fighters like the J20. China estimates that Russia will be unable to provide parts, engines or service the engines 40% of the engines it has sold to China. Ironically the US had to pause F35 production when it was discovered that magnets used in the turbopumps originated in China. This shows the interconnectedness of the world in a manner more significant that McDonalds closing down Russian operations.

Russians don't seem to be on board with this new move by Putin. Many Russian men are attempting to flee, and there are protests, despite the thread of imprisonment for protesting. I can't help but think this is going to blow up in his face.

Some things out of topic.,.with the kind permission of mods.I am pro-Russian.nor pro-Putin....and little bit history:
If there wasn't the Russo-Turkish war from 1877-78 we would speak now on Turkish, would had lost our identically and here on this land would be moscues, not churches.500 hundred years of Otoman occupation, slavery&misery. That's why pro-Russian feelings in this country are strongest from all ex-Soviet block.☮️☮️☮️

It became a meme
situation on a border between Georgia and Russia:
Letter Z shaved on temple of child
Will Georgian border guard deny access to Georgia?
And if they will, should I shave letter Z with a lighter

And every second car(on border control point) few days ago was marked letter Z/V
