The Pentagon has denied reports the US military is running low on ammunition. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported some stocks had been significantly depleted due to US donations to Ukraine. It quoted an unnamed Pentagon official who said supply of 155-millimetre ammunition – used for Howitzers – had become "uncomfortably low" and impacted America's own readiness for a potential conflict. However, in a recent press briefing, a Pentagon spokesperson rejected suggestions stocks are too low or donations to Ukraine are impacting the US military's readiness. The US has pledged 13 and a half billion dollars in arms to Ukraine since late last year.
 
I'm not sure why the Pentagon would release a statement about being afraid that our ammunition stocks were depleted and that it leaves us in a weak position in case of armed conflict, even if it were true.

I just want to point out that a lot of that Ukraine aid was just gifts to the US, for example 9 billion to resupply stocks, doesn't make sense to count the money for sending weapons and then also for restocking them. There's 8 billion to US intelligence agencies to share intel, which is basically just a gift. There's 4 billion for sending US troops to eastern Europe, Ukraine doesn't get that either. Even the money for weapons helps the arms industry employ people. Just trying to show that the money is aimed at helping US just as much as Ukraine, its not some give away. Well maybe the economic assistance is, but its really not that much, and if it helps bog Russia down, there's value to it.

Russian State TV Host Suggests Total Victory in Ukraine Not Possible

Another host on the Russian news program "The Meeting Place" mused about his "fantasy" that a Pentagon official dealing with Ukraine "chokes on a cherry pit."

"As long as there are outside powers willing to send people, give them weapons, fill their heads with radical information, it seems to me that unfortunately, we will be unable to attain a total victory," he added.

There are two documents on the US-NATO/Russia proxy war in Ukraine which may be of interest to the Bluelight community.

The first goes back three decades and is for that reason, lengthy. It is an interactive timeline and it can be accessed here.

While only six pages, the second document is also important. It considers the war from the standpoint of critical resources for both peacetime and wartime production. It opens with this telling remark:

This whole thing doesn't make a lick of sense. Any country with border disputes can't join nato, so even if that wasn't officially in the deal, it would be the case anyway. Ontop of that, Zelensky has offered to not join at least twice. So really, from the information here, we are to believe that Putin offered to retreat from all positions gained in the last 6 months... in return for nothing? Why the hell would Putin do that? Why the hell wouldn't Ukraine go for that? Johnson didn't have the power to stop it. There's something missing from this, if there's anything to it at all.

Russia Sees 'Major Defeat,' Ukraine Has 'Already Won': Ex-Military Leader

Igor Girkin, a former commander of pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine, said on Saturday that Ukrainian troops have "already won" the war against Russia.

Girkin, who also goes by Igor Strelkov, has long been seen as an anti-Ukraine hardliner. However, he acknowledged Ukraine's victory in a Telegram post Saturday.


He wrote that Russia suffered a "major defeat" in Kharkiv amid reports that Russian troops fled Kupyansk, which has served as a major railway and logistics hub for the Kremlin since capturing the city in February. The British Defense Ministry said Saturday that Ukraine retaking the city would deliver a "significant blow" to Russia.

In his post, Girkin added that because Ukraine has "already won," Russia should now focus on preserving its troops.

"Now, in fact, our side can only talk about how to stop its further deepening and prevent the escalation of an operational defeat into a strategic one," he wrote. "Although, in general, it has already outgrown. "Battle for the initiative" the enemy has already won. Now we should talk about preventing the Armed Forces of Ukraine from encircling and destroying large formations of our troops."
 
If it's legit, then I'd imagine when futures open tomorrow night some commodities may have big moves in anticipation of the war ending. Guess we'll see
 
this war is far from over. Putin is not pack up and leave so fast. He will most likely become very desperate as he clings to his image of a strong man. his army is already declaring defeat in telegram.

It will be the end of conventional warfare soon. Maybe putin will start launching chemical weapon attacks.
