Does Provigil (modafinil) have euphoric, recreational or noticeable "dopamine" reward related effects?

Exactly. Coffee has definite recreational effects for me. Been addicted since I was 12.
Compared to speed, it's much more adrenergic and jittery, though. Modafinil is similar to me, better'n coffee, but not speed.
well for coffee i dont know about recreational effects, it only has so much caffeine in it (but it will hit you wih mild Euphoria if you go a month without it and then have a cup). Consider pure caffeine tho, thats not too much different from Amphetamine - Caffeine pills are routinely sold as ecstasy or speed. Think more along the lines of energy drinks like Red Bull.

Modafinil isnt as adrenergic or jittery as pure Caffeine or Amphetamine, your head remains totally clear, you arnt fidgeting and getting distracted. I doesnt feel like a stimulant to me at all, and perhaps most importantly there are no withdrawal symptoms (even after continuous use). It can be stopped easily, unlike amphetamine - in fact im going to ahead and say the withdrawal symptoms from stopping Coffee are actually worse than Modafinil lol. Sounds insane but its true.

Go a month without Coffee and then have a cup, its not that far removed from a speed type effect. People massively understate how powerful cafeene is when thinking about these things. Like you get some very real withdrawal systems when you stop drinking coffee.
After taking Guarana and Green/ Black tea for quite some while. So in no way my body was naive to Xanthines.

My first cuppa Coffee felt exactly like how you describe. A powerful blast of short acting Caffein, I was literally bouncing from my first cup. The crash though comes very quick. And after tolerance builds the honeymoon period ends your just left with another addiction. Ime my preference was always with other plants like the first two I mentioned but also Guayusa and Mate are way more forgiving. They have a less in your face effect last longer and have a slower decline in effect's.

Modafinil honestly sounds like shit. It may have its uses (Narcolepsy), but as far as stims go I wouldn't go searching for it. There are way better alternatives to aid in concentration.

Whats that tea they drink in the middle east ? Its like another mild stimulant ? (not caffeine) Its legal in most places afaik. Love green tea lol, the Chinese cultivate strains with tons of l theanine which are the most valued. The effect is better than marijuana (THC is a nasty compound imo) - very clean but potent sedative, they refer to it as getting tea drunk. It makes me wonder why l theanine isnt used as a safe substitute for Benzos ? It must be just as potent ? I got more of a whack off this tea once than i did from a valium (which iv only had twice so i cant draw precise comparisons) but it was very potent (and this is just tea, not theanine in its pure form). Il look into Guayusa and Mate. As for Modafinil, its good but the utility evaporates pretty quickly. I was prescribed it years ago but told them to stop as it no longer worked (and it was great inasfar as no withdrawal effects).

I think that coffee and caffeine both are plenty recreational in lower doses. However, if you push it to far you get the negative effects.
In the 70's there was "bootleg speed" which was a mix of standard doses of caffeine, ephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine. All three of those are not too bad in lower doses but get crappy feeling if you push it higher. The logic was that all three in a standard dose would get around the undesirable feelings, I guess.
Can't say that worked, and they sucked if you took a few.

Isn't caffeine commonly one of many adulterants?

Caffeine just isn't speed (unless you're referring to impure speed cut with loads of caffeine). I stopped to drink caffeine regularly but the effects remain as it always was: Some wakefulness, some jitteriness but no euphoria or concentration, rather the opposite, an increase in ADHD like effects. I'm craving amphetamines.

More then once I got high on Green tea sometimes in a combo with Guarana. The longer and the more tea you use the greater the effect. Guarana adds some stimulation to it. And smooth ens out the duration as its longer lasting. Guarana also works as some sort of cooling agent opposed to the warming sweaty Caffeine experience Coffee gives. Strangely enough sleep on these is always possible unlike Coffee.

Still trying to find a source for cheap l-Theanine as it is about the most expensive supplement available over here.

THC a nasty compound? The only negative effects I experience from it are if I have not smoked for a day or more. Then it hits me like a train, but once accustomed I can function on it very well ( even when not accustomed it barely effects my functioning but I will come across as a stoner ). A little feeling of anxiety and going over the top. But not unhand able by any means. I keep my smoking to a max of 3/ 4 times a day, if circumstances allow it, and add CBD high weed and a bit of Tobacco at the end of the session to balance it out. YMMV.

Btw isn't that tea you mention based upon Ephedra which contains Ephedrine and called Mormon tea? Used to love Ephedra extract's in combo with Green tea and Guarana you'll have an powerful combo.

I get no effects at all from l-Theanine, tried it in various dosages from very low to very high (literally grams) but nothing. But I read that tea (I think it was black in that report) can actually get you high if you drink enough. I'm too scared off caffeine to try it out though.

Yeah, THC without tolerance is nasty imo. Last time I've tried it were just a few puffs of an Amsterdam joint which led to immediate tachycardia and a panic attack like state, Thankfully I had some CBD around and used that, was also the only occasion where CBD did something noticeable. Never had the urge to buy weed even when it sounds like the ideal drug to have around. But read repeatedly now that you need tolerance for it to be good.
