You can't beat gore-tex for wet weather that's including hiking shoes.

a non military gore-tex jacket is 300 squid though.

Recently (well, about six months ago) got THIS, and I can’t rate it highly enough. All of TAD gear is highly rated though, so worth the investment. Especially if you want to stay dry and warm.

fuck me they are paying you too much.

next piece i invest in for outdoors stuff will be an arc'teryx gore tex coat i reckon. might ask for one for christmas, my parents will think i'm a loon given i asked for money towards a barbour coat last christmas. how many coats does one person need?!?!? answer: many.

This is the hipster wax coat to get.

Read the amazon reviews about getting a size smaller than your normal size.

I'm in the middle of my 13th monsoon season here and STILL don't own a waterproof that's, well, waterproof

Usually just end up buying a single use rain "condom" that costs 50c at the side of the road.

They aren't ideal though as they both disintegrate quickly at 50mph+, and even if they don't they pool water in your crotch which eventually leaks and sends cold water down the back of one's ballsack and towards the ass hole

It's your body sweat, which where you live in a high humidity environment is even worse, which those plastic condoms just keep hold of.

You can still sweat with gore-tex but its less than with anything else.

I go pooch walking in thunderstorms dpm95 gore-tex rocks.

I just value being warm and dry. Spent far too much on other named brands, but the vast majority have sold out to China where they’re made on a budget and are trading on the brands former quality.

Even the likes of Stone Island and CP are now in the hands of China/Sports Direct.

The jacket is bomb proof and I expect it to last 5+ years. If it lasts longer than that, then it owes me nothing.

Just a recommendation at the end of the day. ❤️

i have no idea what that coat is and couldn't find it on the brands website. why are hipsters wearing it?

my assumption with anything described as hipster is that function is an afterthought so not to buy it.

fair enoughh. i was just being a dickhead. i value quality too. just not in a position to buy a coat for north of £500 and genuinely had no idea that prices that high could add anything but smugness. it seems you've done some research though so i'll trust you.

i wanted arc'teryx cos when i was in mountain refuges last year all the leaders were wearing it. they get a massive discount, but wouldn't wear it if it didn't work. we were in rain and fog for most of iit and our guide was intensely comfortable the whole time. but then out of the blue my mum decided to buy me a coat in the sale today that should be better than my current one. should do me for the type of hiking i do. when i get a dog in about 5 million years time i'm probably need gore tex for winter walkies.

anyway, we had a lovely view, top visibility, reminds me of my aborted striding edge attempt:

fjallraven vardag anorak, cos not many people know of this wax coat.
It's obviously quite popular in Sweden.
Breathable so they claim yet waterproof'ish.

It's been in use for years. Kinda like the same cult following barbour has but none of the country bumpkin tag or not quite.

You can find it cheaper than there.

Getting so stoned you look Vietnamese and like your eyes are bleeding doesn't mix with someone smoking coke. All I wanted was a quiet Sunday afternoon with my bong coughing every hour as I suck another bowl but nope it was denied to me.

Just got delivered the single worst item of Indian food I've ever tasted

It was supposed to be veg soup; it was an inedible sour and salty broth with a few peas, a chopped carrot and not much else.
One spoon almost make me retch

Binned it, waiting for a veggie soup from a different Indian place now and parlaying my 1 star rating against the possibility of a refund from the first delivery

I don't have an Indian nearby.
