Fioricet & hydrocone

So I’m prescribed fioricet (butalbital/acetaminophen/caffeine) and this morning I had a terrible migraine so I took 2. At about 11:30/12pm.

But I also sprained my knee and have hydrocodone. I usually will take it (prescribed 1-2 5mg) sometime around 6-8pm after I’ve walked on it all day and the Advil doesn’t help LOL. Do you think this is safe to still do?

I’m nervous bc I don’t have a huge tolerance to hydros much unless I’ve had a recent injury (had a lot of knee problems growing up)

Anyways what do you all think? I’m debating on taking another fioricet or just holding off for hydro.

Taking barbs and opioids together for someone without a tolerance to either is a bad idea, but for someone like u whos probably got a tolerance to your fioricet then it isn't as bad just keep the doses of hydrocodone to a minimum.

Even if one is in the morning and the other is at night, so taken separately. Like today I took 10mg hydro at 10am since I had a day of events ahead and skipped last nights dose bc I was nervous. I am currently am getting a migraine while out. Could I take a fioricet it’s been almost 6 hours or no?

Wow there are still barbiturates around? Did you try a triptan for treating the migraine? Just a question, not meant as recommendation if you're fine with your current medication.

As long as you don't get sedated by what you already took then I'd say another one is fine 6 hours past.

yeah- I just switched from rizitriptan to nurtec as well. I’ve had migraines since I was 3 and I’m 28. I’ve tried everything under the sun & have a few options to take at a time. Fioricet works the best though. I just got approved for Botox though so crossing my fingers

Fioricet actually blocks the liver enzyme that metabolizes hydrocodone into its active form.So it kinda blocks the effect, I found this out the hard way years ago

Yea I've took like 4 Fioricet and a couple hydro tens with no problem. You will be fine
