Alcohol 2M2B - 2-methyl-2-butanol & Synthetic Alcohols Megathread

Yeah, I'm not really an experienced traveler. I've probably taken about 10 plane flights before and all were inside the country.
I'm a white man, so it might help. It sucks how even people who aren't "racist" still unconsciously act in racist ways without even noticing.
I use kratom too, but I'm not going to risk taking that cause I don't really NEED it. Apparently, Thailand just legalized kratom though.
My best idea is glasses cleaner becauuse it kinda smells minty and alcoholy, so I think even if they opened it, they couldn't tell the difference. Only problem is, I don't know if they would throw it away. Liquids like glasses cleaner should be allowed, right?
BTW: 2m2b is like alcohol with lower toxicity and higher potency. It also has no mental effect or enibriation. Like a cleaner, better version of alcohol basically.
 
Never tried 2M2B, was always curious about it though. While it does produce alcohol like effects with no hangover it lasts substantially longer than alcohol. How would you characterize its effects? It is interesting that you see it as a viable anxiolytic over benzodiazepines. What doses do you use? Do you use it daily?

We aren't here to help you traffic drugs, but seeing as it isnt illegal in Thailand, simply put it in a container one would normal have a clear liquid. You can't really get "caught" with it if it isn't illegal (though of course it is best to avoid that discussion to begin with). The tricky part would be the fuel/gasoline like smell it has to it. I suppose alot of it comes down to the volume you are attempting to bring in.

It's not a good alcohol replacement at all!!! However, it's the best thing for anxiety I've ever taken. A lot of people are trying to use it as a substitute for alcohol and it's just not very similar (too sedating) and so they often end up disappointed based on the reports I've read. I like it because it doesn't mess with my mind, but keeps the anxiety away. All benzos make me retarded. 2m2b makes my reactions a little slow, but still smart.
I used to use it pretty often years ago, but now I only use it once a month or less. My anxiety has gone down as I've gotten older. You can't take this stuff daily. It builds up overtime. You need to wait a few days between use. Also, it's not something to get drunk with cause it lasts too long and makes you heavy and sleepy the next day. Taking a lower dose for anxiety or sleep is really good. Best sedative imo if you don't take drunken level doses. 6 ml max in one day. If I haven't used it in a while, 1-2mL will be good for anxiety.
The taste is like absolute shite though. It's not like gasoline, but more like sharpie marker and mint. But if you're only taking a small amount, it's not that bad.
I did a few reports in the past on this stuff. Also tried 3m3p, which is slightly stronger and smells like nasty spearmint instead of peppermint. It's otherwise the same though. And I tried emylcamate which is the carbamate of this alcohol and it was the best. Very little taste and smell is like irish spring soap or deodorant. Really pissed that no one is selling that emylcamate. It's a good one, but I can't make it anymore.
I'd only be bringing less than 100ml.
 
2m2b sounds like I might really like it. It sounds like what alcohol should be, a more sedating (this is a great bonus to me not a downside) version with the same sort of inebriation with no hangover.

I read a dude on here who experimented with a bunch of these rare downers who put it above GHB (and anything else!) in terms of sleep inducting effects.

The only thing that holds me back from trying it is that it has very little toxicity research online about it. I did find a new recent study though:

That study is only talking about the acute toxicity though isn't it? It still says nothing of possible carcinagenicity or genotoxicity right? Some people say it is most likely harmless because it has a history of use in the past, but that means nothing really. People took all sorts of harmful substances in the past. Can the chemistry specialists here say anything more than I have one way or the other?

GHB I have tried a couple of times and liked the effect but the fucker causes a watery fucking drainage down my throat for the remainder of the duration after the peak which is really irritating. I have noticed this with all other gaba b drugs I tried as well and it ruins them for me. I think I noticed this with benzoes as well. I do have perrenial rhinitis due to allergies so I don't know if it is just that depressants will cause the usual clearance to not work as well. I can't think of a way round this so it ruins the experience for me of this wide class of drugs so this is why I am still looking for a good effective downer that I can get on with.

Interestingly alcohol doesn't have this effect on me, nor kratom, so I don't know why just benzoes and gaba b focusing ones. It isn't all though of this class as I know zopiclone didn't and also temazepam from what I remember didn't though the latter was many many years I took that in the late 90s.

So any ideas how I could counteract that annoying side effect with the ones I already took or other ones I can try? Antihistamines I fucking hate and I read they are the worse for increasing dementia risk another reason to not wanna take them plus it is not good to mix them with already straong downwers is it.

There are a lot I haven't tried like soma and gabapentin and such but I am paranoid about things like genotoxicity and tumors respectively as most of the downers seem to have some data saying either carcinogenic (zopiclone and similar) or general inconclusive genotoxicity data - just how much of a risk to your health is this? I want to find somehting to take semi regular (only once or twice a week mind and never consecutive days) so it does concern me.

It might be less toxic than ethanol but this has never been adequately assessed.

The duration of action could make it tricky to use, and lead to car accidents, brain fog etc.

I would imagine that the withdrawal would be pretty awful.
 
You have a ton of requirements so can't really answer your question.

As far as downers a little "off the beaten path" however:

I LOVE Soma's. Only gaba drug I like better is GHB/GBL/1,4butanediol.

Gabapentin and Lyrica are quite nice with somewhat unique effects.

F-phenibut is a phenibut analog but it kicks in in an hour. I like the phenibut high a bit better but the 3 hour comeup is generally a logistical hurdle from me.

Kava - I've had some nice sessions on this but have a hard time getting them consistently. I don't know the best brands or preparation etc and haven't been curious enough to really learn.

Fioricet - only barbiturate I've tried. If I have absolutely no tolerance 4-5 pills is nice.

alcohol in solid form is impractical and silly, useless.... you'd have to snort 30 lines of it to equal 1 regular drink

alcohol is unique in that in natural form it is one of the least potent drugs known to man... yet common... when people drink they consume OUNCES of alcohol, compare to grams or less of every other drug

there are a few companies living off "natural/synthetic alcohol" products but I guarantee you they are all a huge scam and waste of money

ethanol in any other form other than liquid is a joke, it's not going anywhere and will not be replaced any time soon

I've heard of several such companies that make these big claims, websites, journalism and such claims then disappear


THERE IS NO NATURAL/HERBAL SUBSTITUTE FOR ETHANOL WITH THE SAME HIGH AND NO SIDE EFFECTS
 
Ah so it's an RC drug acting on gaba. I read another article about the guy and he sounds kind of like a blowhard. I'll concede that it's possible this drug is better than alcohol but it'll have all the same issues as any other gaba drug, really nothing special
 
I thought he was nutts too but I like the guy now.

Claims that it works but gotta get it through the food safety lot. Tried it on himself etc...

He's managed to get more ppl into medical cannabis in the UK.

strictly in terms of dose required to produce an effect, yeah

there are about 14 grams of 100% ethanol in each standard beer

what other drugs do you dose in 14 grams?

I mean I used to take 14g of kratom in one dose... but that was a dose for at least half if not the whole day, not 1 unit
 
Anyway, just putting it out there and we ll watch this space in a few years. I need something legal that doesn't give me a hangover
