Blue Collar {1978}: Oh man, this was a great movie, can't believe I never saw it until now – it made my "top X" list right away.
Written & directed by Paul Schrader (who wrote Taxi Driver), starring Richard Pryor and Harvey Keitel and Yaphet Kotto as three Detroit auto worker friends who pull a heist on their corrupt union local and get pulled apart to three very different fates. Starts off somewhat comedic but turns very dark, indeed.

In the timeless words of Smokey James (Yaphet Kotto): "They pit the lifers against the new boys, the young against the old, the black against the white. Everything they do is to keep us in our place."
