Hello everybody,
First post here to introduce myself. I'm a 42 year-old guy from sw France. I've recently discovered this website as I was researching information about a some drugs I was prescribed. I'll post my questions in the relevant sub-forums sometime soon (and might ask you what these relevant sub-forums should be, there are so many!) Following a couple of distressing life events, I recently experienced with what my doctor called a depression episode (starting late November), which is a relief to know because it's not the first time in my life that I experience it but it's the first time I receive a medical opinion and can put a name on it (of course I had a pretty good idea that was the case before but I'm always reluctant to do self-diagnosis). So, first experience with anti-depressants (SSRI) and benzodiazepines. Later with a lighter prescription (Etifoxine/Stresam and Atarax). Today I'm feeling better, but not perfectly well, and certainly not ready to resume work yet (I work as a truck driver and do not want to risk having panic attacks while driving a 44-ton semi-trailer on the highway).
I don't drink alcohol. I was a heavy drinker until I totally quit about 3.5 years ago. I've been a regular weed smoker but decided to stop when I started the medication for the depression mentioned above; and I've recently decided to completely stop – weed doesn't bring me anything anymore. I still love psychedelics and the occasional molly. I've tried many other drugs but am a fan of none.
So that's it for my personal introduction… what else? I'm passionate about languages and linguistics, and have a keen interest in psychology and some other stuff. I like to run to keep me fit. I should do more yoga. I practice meditation. I think that's all.
I hope this forum will help me get answers and interesting conversations with interesting people. Meanwhile, Happy New Year to you all!

I actually have stopped the SSRIs for different reasons. I was not properly monitored (I'm not sure it's the right word in English, I hope you see what I mean) and the side effects were too distressing for me. Today I'm on Etifoxine/Stresam + Atarax. I know myself, it's just an episode, and hopefully with the right amount of sport, support from my friends, and maybe a little help from lsd things will be back on track very soon.

Where do you think I should post the following questions:
– Something about the after affects of SSRIs, and especially one that I had never heard about, which is my usual chilliness having completely disappeared (I could feel the cold, but it was not bothering me, which was a first time thing in my life)?
– A question about Etifoxine/Stresam regarding the usage of lsd while on it.

Let me see if I can help you a bit. But keep in mind....even if you post it in the " wrong " forum .... we can simply move it to the correct one. This is just for some reference to help you. These won't be in order ( in other words not how they appear in the list of forums ).

Basic drug discussion is a catch all in a way. It kind of encompasses all drugs but the focus is for harm reduction. Your post could go here.

Other drugs. Same thing as BDD but just actually another name for a forum that encompasses any and all drugs. This also has a harm reduction focus.

Drug culture. A place to talk about drugs socially and ask questions about getting high and what you like to do in the drug world and isn't so much focused on harm reduction but more a social place for drug users to swap stories.

The dark side is a forum where people post their drug problems, share dark stories that have happened, talk about real life problems and need guidance and advice. This forum is taken very seriously and we don't allow shit posting or trolls. Same with Health and Recovery and mental health. We take those 3 forums very seriously.

Health and recovery. Great forum to get advice if we are in recovery and need advice and tips to stay well and get clean. That is also a good forum for your questions.

Mental health is pretty self explanatory and your questions could go there as well as you are talking about mental health meds in you NMI post.

Most of the other forums are pretty self explanatory like trip reports, neuroscience, politics and science and psychadelic drugs.

We have a forum called the Lounge. This is a non serious....non harm reduction social thread that is for pretty much anything goes. We still have to follow the rules but it is a corny, nonsensical hodge podge of funny and silly stuff. Take nothing personal in there and enter at your own risk. Newbies tend to get trolled but it is all in fun. If you a real serious person don't go in there.

Have fun..post often and hope I answered some questions.
