Is it a bad time to take MDMA at a small event ?(Covid)Immunosuppression

I know that MDMA has immunosuppressive properties so im wondering in theory if you go out and get on it then mingle with a few people who are carrying it, does it nullify vaccines? does it increase risk of serious infection?
Apparently the immunosuppressive properties last 48 hours and are at full exposure while you are high.
what about if you take a smaller dose (say half a pill rather than a whole pill )

had planned for an event at the end of this month my last ever rave
or should i lay off it entirely
 
i havent been to a rave nor took mdma , ketamine etc for over 7 years now.

There is someone i want to experience it with as he is getting older and wants to do it , kinda a bucket list
its not going to be a very big event like i said
 
I mean I just did it two nights in a row which has even stronger immunosuppressive effects then 1 night as it’s cumulative. No one there had masks. I tried my best to wear a buff over my face and was fully vaccinated with my second shot being a month before the event. I came out just fine, as did everyone I went with.

Not saying it’s safe, just giving you a case study of 1. I’d personally go for it unless there’s major dangers for you, your companion, or anyone close to you guys.

i ask as i recently went out, no mdma just some alcohol and i got really ill although not sure it was corona just know at least 5 days have been a write-off , ive not had the vaccine

It's hard to say. Rolling in public without a vaccine (nor a past natural infection) might indeed increase your risk of getting infected and/or getting a bad case, because your body's capability for sterilizing immunity and functional immunity will be lower to begin with and it will be suppressed even further by the MDMA, which has been shown to have quite a profound immunosuppressive effect. It's hard to say what the net result would be though, certainly from a layman's perspective because there are an insane amount of factors that impact the outcome and there's a lot that they don't even know yet, like which levels of antibodies correspond to which level of protection

I can tell you what I did. I didn't roll in public for the entire duration of this crisis for the reasons you mention, up until I got vaccinated and after that I did roll in public twice, though everyone there was either vaccinated or tested. I do live together with a very vulnerable girlfriend though, so that was a very big factor for me being so careful

You could have yourself checked for antibodies to know if you had a corona infection. There are even home tests you can do to check this which give you a result in 15 minutes. They are called "antibody test kits" as opposed to the "antigen test kits" that determine if there is currently an infection present. Natural infection seems to confer quite a robust protection in people who have a well-functioning immune system, though the duration of that protection is uncertain. In any case, if you do roll, it might be wise to avoid other people for a while after the party, both for your and their protection

This was a very informative reply and exactly what i needed to read, the truth. Im currently very unwell i think my immune system is actually garbage right now, what ive took from this thread is: dont go , get the vaccine , wait until its a better time then go (when there are less active cases)
The event wouldn't guarantee anyone is vaccinated or tested, that's just how things are going in the UK right now.

My pleasure. And yes, that is the advice I would give myself in your circumstances, indeed. I of course do not know the full circumstances nor your personal preferences, so the path you take is a solely personal choice, as it always should be. I did roll at home with my girlfriend a few times though, before we got vaccinated, but I kind of prefer home rolls anyways so that is pretty normal for me. If you haven't tried that before and you really want to roll, that could be an idea, get together with your partner or with one or two close friends, get some great music and some rolling paraphernalia (vicks inhaler, blacklight, glow sticks,.....) and roll in the comfort of your home. Guaranteed an amazing time in the right company

have taken mdma at home with friends before, was pretty good but nothing on a rave. Never tried with a partner that could be fun but i need a partner lol
I didnt want to take it at home i was going to share a rave experience with my dad

Yeah for me personally, there's nothing like romance and sex when rolling, it's like the drug was meant to be used in this way. Everyone is different of course so again, YMMV. For sex, should you ever try it, you might need to get some ED medication, depending on how much you're influenced by MDMA. It differs hugely between people but be aware that it is possible you'll notice some...shrinkage let's say. That is, if you're a man, doesn't apply if you're a woman

By the way, rolling at a rave is its own kind of heaven, I do like it very much. It's just that I slightly prefer rolling at home. It's a completely different vibe and almost appears like a completely different drug. Cool that you can share a roll with your dad, mine would kill me if he ever found out 💀 I can imagine rolling with your dad must strengthen the bond between you two even more
 
well when ever ive taken mdma ive never been sexually there nor confident then again im probably autistic so i cant read those things very easily anyway lol. Raves were always fun for me years back and my dad used to roll but never done it at a rave so i figured he would really enjoy it , but just gonna wait for the right time now

I'm mildly autistic as well, Asperger's, so I can relate a bit. MDMA does tend to take away my social apprehensions a bit and because of that gives me a bit of confidence boost but even then it's hard to read people and not be all awkward
