they're probably in my soil because ive gotten them off the plants probably 4 times now and then they show back up a few months later

do any of you keep seeds from your fruits and veggies from your harvest and plant them the following season?

How about purifying indoor air. Living next to a road and busy seaway's. That seem's like it would take the edge of.

Anyone into that, NASA did some experiment's on that topic i following with great interest.

Just bought a Spathifyllum, a 'air so pure' plant. Rooted it in a mix of pot-soil and coco-peat with some added lava starch. For the nutrient's! Nice addition for my house that total's 11 living plant's that clean the air and produce oxygen.

'Air so pure' Spathifyllum, just edited it as I called it a Asplenium. Which is a Fern. All those Latin term's are so alike. But we call it a Spoon plant over here.

But gardening as any thru garderner knows all depend's on

Love the gnomes we have a couple hidin in our garden. Garden is still going and will get a new pic next time I go outside.
Got a slew of gnomes of all sizes and shapes when at an event for weed (before the bugs broke me) cause I like em and I was high as a mf. ;)

Just discovered this thread. Nice pics!

I've been gardening for years. Always grow tomatoes, various hot peppers, some herbs, and cannabis. Sometimes grow beans, squash, melons. I never use pesticides and have never had an infestation bad enough to consider using them.

Gardening is satisfying in many ways and I love being able to give stuff away. I encourage anyone to grow any plants you possibly can-- even if it's just in a pot on a porch or in a windowsill.
It's a good addiction.

You got a black gnome! Gnomey don't play that!

that's awesome

check these out - they're badass - im gonna grab a few one of these days....

I've always loved gardening as well, ever since I was about 10-11 or so. There's something about it that feels more real that other stuff. And I like being able to make things grow, to work on projects, design planting schemes, create fresh produce or flowers, and encourage insects and wildlife etc.

Speaking of designing stuff, I've really been getting into sub-irrigation systems (self-watering) lately. They all self-water from reservoirs I built beneath them, and the water is carried up via wicking strips. The reason it's called self-watering is because as plant roots draw up moisture from the soil, it encourages the wick to draw up more water. So it never gets either too saturated or too dry, and the soil is able to maintain a comparatively stable moisture and nutrient content no matter how greedy the plants get. Which is especially good for, say, heavy flowering annuals and particularly vegetables

Here's a few snaps of some projects I've recently finished:

That looks really cool! And sounds like a great way to water plants. Sure wish I could do my garden beds like that. Is it very hard to do?

Hand-job, I painted him black!

But your Gnome's are really bad-ass. Would love one those in my garden.

6am-64-14m do please post your gnome. Any idea were they live and what they do.

Mine seem to be a bit on the lazy side.

Lemon or Lime are only sweet when one is on 'Miracle Berrie's'.

Check it out when you interested as it is a very weird effect i read. Like Peppermint feels cool and Capsicum creates a sensation of heat and pain. Or Stevia that taste's like sugary rich, but is actually de-ploid of it.

The Miracle Berry makes sour taste sweet and also changes our perception to bitter tasting thing's.

that's pretty cool! i'll need to get some of those and give it a go.

i love having my tastebuds shocked. used to love those super sour warhead candies, these days i'll eat a whole salad of just dandelion greens. mustard, horseradish... love that shit.

mustard, horseradish... love that shit.
Me too! Add arugula to that mix as well.
And I'm hooked on hot peppers. I make a sweet/heat sauce out of my cayenne, habanero, and Carolina Reaper peppers.
It is a hard drug-- use with caution.
And as for condiments, horseradish is da bomb! The real stuff, not that "horseradish sauce" bullshit. That crap is mostly vegetable oil.
Mustard is great, too-- especially Dijon.
And I love Wasabi. I'm not a fan of sushi, but I dig all that comes with it: Wasabi, seaweed, the various sauces. I'm tempted to go to a sushi place and just order "All the sides, hold the sushi."

I'm not big on sushi either but California Roll (no fish) is tolerable. I've never seen fresh wasabi available, I'd love to get my hands on powder and try it... I hear most of the Western wasabi is mostly domestic horseradish tinted green.

there's also wasabi peas, which goes well with beer :D

spicy pickles? i bet most of us here could make our own with a harvest of cukes and peppers, pickle it in vinegar with some gahlick and dill

Nice garden setup with the different levels. You create extra space that way.

Atm a lot of my plants are up-rooted. Which some em like, think Ficus or Cannabis. And i am trying to use [potting device's that are letting through air]. example's Felt/ weaved (open structure) Polyropyleeen/ PP shopping bag's and jute-fibre bag's. Got that form a Cannnabis Guru named Soma.

this will prevent your roots from circling round but will stimulate inward's growth = more root area -= nicer plant. And it prevent's stem rot in certain plant's like weed. but seems it could be beneficial for Tomato's to.

What did they find with the experiments?

Our gardenia tree was being eaten by a mysterious unknown pest. I started using neem oil but it didn't do much. Eventually found out that snails gather in extremely large numbers at night and prey on very specific greenery. Going out at 1am seems to be a good time to kill them. Our tree is doing much better.
