blackouts

sobriety is a psychotic state of mind
and we're running low
on narcotics
her eyes flicker
with the tantalizing terror
of someone
losing their shit
a chair-leg is driven
through the TV
and I wonder
if I did it?
there's powder
there's pills
there's comics
there's condoms
there's words,
scribbled
they tell me I'm fucked
they tell me
that my time is running low
her eyes dig into me,
and they say,
run

her breath is hot,
heavy with
alcohol,
bad decisions
her hands move
over me, pale
as lab-rats

hysteria is an art-form
few master
she smacks
her skinny arm
dressed in the noose
without gallows
she punctures,
register,
pushes-

sigh

her eyes,
slowly,
rolling back

we enter
another blackout

I love this poem! The first thing that I thought of were the state of things in the US and the way people are currently acting, it's eerily similar.
