Curiously, in my country, pregabalin is cheaper than gabapentin.

About $13 a box with 30 capsules of 75 mg. of pregabalin. A pity that it no longer works for me. Maybe I should try it when I quit tramadol completely. Tramadol prevents me from exceeding 700 mg.

Is there no one else to whom pregabalin did not high anymore? I used it recreationally between May and July 2019 in doses >400 some days and I no longer feel anything when I took it. I really liked its effect when I took it the first few times, but now I don't feel a damn thing. It's weird isn't it?

Is there cross tolerance between pregabalin and gabapentin, right? I have thought about buying gabapentin and trying it.

Do you drink alcohol before or during pregabalin? My subjective experience is that alcohol nullifies pregabalin effects. Maybe the interaction with Tramadol does something similar, who knows. Pregabalin is a weird drug.

I abused pregabalin quite a lot and had many withdrawals and I still can get the quantitative effects as in the beginning when I don't have tolerance, the qualitative effects are not so euphoric anymore, still enjoyable though.

No man. I don't drink alcohol. I hardly ever drink alcohol. I also think it has something to do with tramadol (especially in high doses). In the past, I took lower doses and pregabalin and tramadol were wonderfully potentiated. In fact, it was one of my favorite combos.

PS. A little advice for guests reading the thread. NEVER take pregabalin and tramadol TOGETHER in HIGH DOSES, because there is a great chance of a seizure. I was about to seizure. And I am 100% sure that it was pregabalin, as I have never had a problem with tramadol, even at very high doses.

A dose that low has never done anything for me..... maybe It effects people differently. A bit of a puzzling drug

Without tolerance my usual dose is 225 to 300mg and I get euphoric effects from that and I look high to others. I did build my tolerance to over 1 gram in the past, but I don't do it anymore, when I get to 800mg or so I do quick tapperings and suffer some kind of withdrawal, harder or easier depending how fast I tapper and always quite long lasting, intestinal sympthoms being the worst part of it.

And yes, very puzzling drug with a huge intervariability among people. Just out of curiosity, do you get effects from phenibut? maybe the variability has something to do with GABAB, I know studies don't point to that, but my subjective experience is that the euphoria is very similar to GABAB drugs like phenibut o GHB, maybe GABAB is only activated in hipersensible people to the drug. Maybe not...

Problem is I can be not tolerant to pregabalin but get hook again physically if I don't wait more than that, maybe a month. So tolerance resets faster than the risk of going back to be psysically dependent.

I don't think it is especially known for screwing the kidneys, but the metabolism of pregabalin is not affected by liver and seems that the kidneys are the responsible for it. In patients with a decreased kidneys function they take that into account and prescribe lower dosages, as this malfunction of the kidneys directly translates in higher plasma concentrations. Maybe you have hyperfunctioning kidneys that don't let you get enough pregabalin in your blood stream, maybe not. It is crazy you can take nine grams and don't feel much. But if you took it with success in the past, maybe you just fucked up whatever pregabalin affects in your brain and you need a long break until things go back to normal.

As well I have noticed that pregabalin deshidrates me a lot, as my urine gets very dark when I am on it or just after. Surely your urine should have been quite dark in your "experiment" with heroic dosages.

Well I've taken even higher doses and it's had no effect and I don't pass out. Preg is strange - some people feel the effects at doses like 300mg but that does nothing for me. And I don't think it's a tolerance issue because I go for weeks or months without taking any Preg but I still need pretty high doses to feel anything. I still think they're safer than Benzos though, but as with all drugs you have to be as careful as possible

Can get effects from 600mg up to around a gram but I don’t tend to go over 900mg these days. Now with lockdown on Boxing Day here the days are going to be even longer but at least we’ll be a bit safer.

very strange that you are having a hard time getting it prescribed for anxiety in the UK. its not even indicated for GAD in the US and yet you can get it off label.

you would think a dr would feel more comfortable scripting something that has less addiction potential than benzos.....then again im not sure if your dr is ok giving you benzos.

the sad thing, and MANY people will confirm this....is that lyrica eventually stops working. it is a fucking amazingly effective drug but after a few months it just stops working and the only value it retains is once weekly recreation.

i never thought i would say this but i think i understand why it was not approved for GAD in the US. maybe they found that it just stops working? i dont know. im going to give it another shot after several months of being off it. just having it around in case i run out of benzos is good. also, i did find that taking a decent dose before bed gave me desirable effects the next day. potentiates benzos too.

i should have never told my dr i wanted to stop taking it....its good to just have around. now im going to look like an idiot when i go back and ask to go back on it. however, i am citing it for neuropathic pain from scoliosis. ive been waking up in pain, and working out i find one side of my back to be SEVERELY weaker than the other.

Is this like ghb ? I’m from Canada and since not too long ago I’m a heavy ghb user. I take a vial measurement which I THINK is 4ml each time and a bottle of 60ml lasts me 2days now.... for me I find that it has this almost immediate heartbeat raise when I take it that I never thought of taking it before bed and still feel it when u wake up. Also I’m on my first day off a ghb trip That lasted a week or so... I am sweating from my fingertips, anxious, sad, moody. All of which I was prepared for but I just wanted some advice on how to first help my body recover from this trip and maybe tips on tapering and use the drug more wisely and gracefully.

I started using Lyrica for benzodiazepine withdrawal about a year ago. It did wonders the first few weeks, but tolerance grew rapidly and soon enough I was using 600 mg daily. As it happened I, together with my doctor decided that although I was addicted to clonazepam, the benefits of it outweigh being addicted. So there I was, addicted to both clonazepam and Lyrica.

3 months ago I decided enough is enough, I had no benefits from Lyrica anymore and it just made me groggy and feel slow, which wasn't funny at work. So I decided to quit it. I know witdrawal from Lyrica is very hard, although Pzifer says pregabalin is non-addictive (what a joke, but a sad joke...It's very addictive. Try going cold turkey from a year on 600 mg!).

So I decided to taper off, 75 mg every other week, sometimes 75 mg a week if I felt good. I'm now down to only 75 mg a day! It has been hard at times, but I have been resilient and listened to my body. My anxiety rises quite rapidly the days following a lowering of the dose and I also get occassional panic attacks.

After 2-4 weeks, depending on how I feel, I will finally drop the last 75 mg and be free from this drug. I have a huge stack of it and will maybe use it recreationally (very occassionally) in the future, but right now I'm just happy I'll soon be free from it.

You have no idea how slow Lyrica makes you when you use 600 mg daily. I felt like it took away 20-30% of my intellectual capabilities at times, especially affecting short time-memory.

I am in a very similar situation.. on my first day fully off it right now. I’m realizing cold turkey would be impossible, especially that my parents don’t know about it. Could you pls explain more to me you’re tapering off technique ? Like what was your daily dosage ? Did you do only 1-2 days a week using it or u reduced the amount u used daily ? I am feeling extremely anxious and helpless right now... I have been finishing a 60ml a day for couple of months
