Mental Health Which drug to treat anhedonia?

So is this a symptom of feeling no joy before meds, while on meds, or both?

I'm curious because my meds make me feel this way now and if I was to do something like shrooms, I'm afraid I wouldn't even feel them. I cant get high on anything because of my meds.

Today I did a huge line of coke and smoked meth all day, then took a two hour nap about an hour later.

It's a mood stabilizer so it does that. It helps me get through the day without feeling like I took anything.
Do you have anhedonia? Does lithium make any difference on it?

Both. It became worse on antidepressants. How was it for you?

@ftcgq Definitely. I can ignore the empty feelings instead of having to deal with them all the time. I don't think anybody should have to deal with it. It's almost like it isn't even supposed to be there

Yes I'm on Abilify and Effexor and I'm feeling no pleasure. That's why I asked if it was a symptom of being on meds.

Probably both. Effexor is a SNRI. They are well known to dull emotions. Of Abilify I have only heard about dulling of emotions at high doses or low doses used for many weeks, but not low doses used for a few days. Did you start taking them at different times? If yes, then did you have the suppression of pleasure before you started the other? What dose do you use?

Dex will ruin people long term.

How? I know that people take it pretty much since they were kids/teenagers for ADHD...I think it only ruins people if they become badly addicted to it and use it in large doses.

The 15mg a day that an acquaintance of mine uses hasn't affected him at all, and has improved his life in several ways - he doesn't procrastinate any more, and gets stuff done, but before being diagnosed he didn't do anything.

I know little about NSI-189. Why it is unhealthy?

How does methylphenidate compares to dextroamphetaine for long-term treatment of anhedonia?

"Just stop having anhedonia bro. It is all within yourself."

lol.
i believe methylphendiate fucks people up worse than even dextroamphetamine mentally/

Another vote for psychedelics. I would recommend LSD or MDMA, not so much shrooms or DMT, but that's just me

I have been ripped out of the depths of deep opiate addiction induced depression by 200mcg of LSD. In the right setting it can reawaken parts of your mind and your perception you had let wither

I find microdosing to be tedious, as it more often leads to me having most of the negative physical side effects (hot flashes, muscle tension) without any of the perception change. A good beginner dose, in my opinion, is 75-125mcg, which can be anywhere from 1/3 to 1 full blotter, so tread lightly until you have lots of experience.

Once you've had the experience, though, it is up to you to do the legwork to make it count. You have to seek out pleasure; it wont find you.

I understand OP. I constantly have anhedonia and lack of motivation. Got damn! I didn't even like to watch a movie, new tv-series or listen to music. :(

But after taking tramadol, everything changed. Now I've really loved watching movies again and the motivation returned like when I was young (except to quit ). I know it's an opioid, but sometimes the remedy is better than the disease.
