How long have you been taking it? To be honest though with gabapentin builds tolerance super fast. And it’s risky to mention to dr because if you suggested pregabalin or something he’d know you’re looking to get high with it as more and more are abusing it now.

I would just tell her that I heard u only need 1 pill a day for it instead of taking 3 pills throughout the day, reasonable right? Also, this is only my second day of trying to get high from it in a row but I was taking 600-900 at night to sleep for the past like 2 weeks, I had a 2 day break after that though before I started trying to get high on it again to reset the tolerance a bit. Probably gonna wait at least like 4 or 5 days now before trying again. I've been prescribed it for at least like 2 years+. I'm extremely worried that it's just not working anymore, it was my main way of dealing with extreme stress. I have ativan too but I don't think it does much even up to 3mg from .5mg pills at the same time as 2400mg gaba yesterday and yesterday wasnt great either. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. How do I take it to get high because the small doses over time don't work since they only work for like 4 hours.

They don’t only work for 4 hours though, try taking 600mg every hour for 4 hours tomorrow and see how you feel by the evening. If you started in morning you’d see by afternoon if it’s working. Like has been said before, sometimes with gabapentin you don’t realise you’re high when you actually are. It’s a subtle effect sometimes.

Also you could say you heard pregabalin was more effective. Are you in USA or UK? If UK then I dunno because they really are starting to crack down in pregabalin prescriptions.

I'm in the USA and I think I need a few clean days before I start feeling it again, I don't want a subtle high, I want a high where I don't have to think about shit anymore for awhile. Theres gotta be a way to get that again.

You need to speak to your dr about whatever issues you’re having. Maybe there is another drug they can give you or some counselling. Drugs are just a sticking plaster, unless the wound is treated it just festers underneath.

The bottle doesn’t say to do that so you haven’t tried it.

Seriously, take 600mg every hour for 4 hours and see how you feel. I bet you’ll get something from it.

Withdrawing from gabapentin and pregabalin is also not pleasant. Just be aware you shouldn’t discontinue your meds without a taper.

ye thats the point though, I dont do this often enough to get withdrawal, its only like 2 or 3 days a week max and while it might be nice to have a slight buzz i would rather an intense high for a shorter amount of time. I just wanted to know how to get high off of it and thats it

I tried to tell you how to. You don’t believe me.

600mg every hour for 4 hours. If you aren’t then take another 600mg. Guarantee you’ll feel it though.

My tolerance is too high for me to feel 600 even if i do take it every 4 hours. I heard aleve increases gabapentin absorption by around 20 percent as well. Would 1200mg every hour be better for the first 2 hours then 300s after that every hour?

Yes, I realise your tolerance is high. I’m gonna try explain it again.

If you take 1200mg of gabapentin only a fraction of that will be absorbed, a lot will be wasted because of the way gabapentin is metabolised.

If you take 600mg a good percentage will be absorbed then if ou take another 600mg in a hour a good percentage of that will be absorbed also. Much better than taking 1200mg at once.

Honestly, try what I’m saying and see how you get on!

Ye but why every 4 hours? isnt that a bit long in between doses? wouldnt it be absorbed by an hour or something at least? maybe 900 per hour would be better? I want more than just a buzz and I know what youre saying but it just seems weak compared to what I normally do.

ok I did it and barely feel anything except a pain in my chest on the right. Did it every 45 minutes taking another 900mg. Is pregbalin better at giving more intense highs?

I wouldnt call pregabalin a high. It makes you feel kinda drunk.

You’re probably best to take a tolerance break with gabapentin. Give it a few weeks.

I’ve no idea why you’ve chest pain but I can’t imagine it’s caused by gabapentin. It’s something you should keep an eye on though.
