the vast majority of games are played Saturday afternoons. There are some prime time games every Saturday night. They air on ABC, FOX, ESPN, etc.

Arkansas plays Florida tonight at 7 ET on ESPN.
Wisconsin plays Michigan 7:30 ET on ABC.
Oregon plays Washington State 7ET on FOX.

Top teams, year in and year out, are Alabama and Clemson. Ohio State wants to be, and makes it half the time. The rest are also rans.

As mal noted, Saturday is college football gameday, traditionally from noon eastern time until after midnight for the west coast to wrap up their late games. However, to get more viewers, ESPN has been paying teams to move their Saturday games to Thursday night to be a featured only game on that evening. Building on that the Mid-American Conference (MAC) has started moving ALL their in conference games to Tuesday and Wednesday nights (they call it MACtion). Given it is one of the lower conferences, they want some love and attention.

FYI - pro football is traditional on Sundays, with a featured game Monday night that has expanded to two games on Monday night football (MNF), with an occasional game on Thursday night. High schools hold their games on Friday nights so as not to compete for fans.

And of course b10 is gonna change it's rules to put tOSU in the conf championship and keep alive their hopes for a CFP bid. Meanwhile, ACC pulls schedule change shenanigins in order to keep CLEM v ND in their conf championship hoping for a CLEM win to put BOTH into the CFP. While the B12 and P10 have no real candidate, and SEC is juggling AtM / Bama / FLA, and is letting the teams prove it out on the field.

I get it that it isn't tOSU's fault so many games got cancelled, it is a f'd up year. But b10 has as many teams as SEC and screwed the pooch overall with their poor planning. F them.

I hope ND wins 2-0 on a CLEM self inflicted safety, keeping CLEM out (I hate ND as one of my most hated teams).

It will be interesting if UF beats ALA in the SEC Championship (ain't gonna happen, I just know it), if they would still try to keep ALA in the CRP. There is precedent for that.

It would also be quite reasonable for the CFP to look at tOSU and simply say 'you didn't play enough good teams'. Their season has been:
52-17 win over NEB (who is 2-1)
38-25 over PSU (ranked #18 at the time, now at 2-5)
49-27 win over RUT (2-5)
Cancelled v MD (2-2)
42-35 over IND (then #9, 6-1)
Cancelled v ILL (2-5)
52-12 over MSU (2-4)
Cancelled v MICH (2-4)

Every team can only play who is on the schedule. The b10 did this to tOSU, and themselves. Even fi they played the cancelled games, they have ONE signature win, and it took them to the wire. Let them stay home for the CFP and watch on tv.

Disclaimer: I live in Ohio so I’m a bit biased lol

I think tOSU has definitely shown that they are a force to be reckoned with. Justin fields has been absolutely phenomenal.

the Indiana game was their only shoddy performance tbh. Everything else they dominated

but I also do concede that they have had a very easy schedule. I can understand if they get left out of the playoff for that reason. But I do believe that with a normal schedule they could’ve proven their top 4 spot. Like i said, fields has been an incredible leader this year
 
I come back now, a Florida Gator born and raised, to say that even if we beat Bama in the SECCG (HA!) we do NOT belong in the CFP. Trask worked his way out of the Heisman with 3 turnovers.

Fields hasn't played enough to be in the Heisman discussion either.


Fk. Between losing to F$U in basketball in the morning (and our best player collapsing unexplainably, and still no clarification on 'critical but stable' in the hospital), and this embarrassing loss against LSU....I'm in abject disappointment right now.
