Stimulants Self Medicating ADHD With Meth

I just recently started using meth again after a five year break from it, as I been a stimulant addict on and off for the last twenty years. I personally feel that meth feels way more cleaner and smoother then Adderall or any traditional amphetamine, and the comedown in my opinion is not as bad as Adderall. Unfortunately impurity is a huge issue as meth is a street drug, so effects vary, I can have a bag of crystal that feels dirty and anxiety stricken like Ritalin or some other dirty stim, or another day I'll get such a good.bag of ice that a half gram will last me 12hrs, I'll feel super clean , super energetic, yet super calm, horny as fuck, anxiety free and feel like a million bucks. Meth is not the drug to abuse and redose because you will have a hundred more problems then you previously did on adderall. You need to control yourself and not redose, or smoke your brains out
If you can be responsible and mature, meth is much more beneficial then regular amphetamine

I think you are definitely an anomaly (and an engaging writer)

I never feel compelled to abuse my ADHD meds and stick to prescribed doses. They do nothing for me at abuse levels. However, if there’s meth to be had I’m like a pig at the trough until supply or money runs dry. I couldn’t imagine taking only 5 mg to perform and at 100mg + (my minimum dose) I’m too spun and too horny to be productive at all.

With the varying potency, it's really hard to say. About once or twice a Month I take a few days off. Makes a world of difference.

First of all, welcome to Bluelight titans7x.

Now, meth.. One time i ate too much meth, and from then on out the high was minimal and mostly just nausea for the next couple days. You're right, it could be shitty meth, but in my experience, and sort of as psy997 is saying, your body may just be rejecting the extra meth because of this initial reaction.

A week after i had that incident, i used meth with no problem. Everyone's body reacts differently.

I think the key here for OP is going to be stopping the chronic dosing. Even if you are eating and sleeping well every day, meth is simply too long a lasting drug to dose daily (above maybe 5-7.5 mg oral).

You should cease use. And not for a day or a week but like a month if possible.

If you don’t get the effects you want when you start to dose the meth again it’s two possibilities, (1) you have an awful dealer giving you extremely dirty/cut meth or (2) you have permanently or effectively permanantlt changed the connections or pattern of receptors in your brain and body by pushin it too far on that 5 day binge.

While the brain is plastic it does have its own sort of “memory” such that any return to normalcy and the the good ole days could immediately be reverted back to its current state immediately upon a dose of meth.

First things first, i'm done with abusing stimulants. Been there, done that. I have no desire to go down that road again.

Secondly, I did run this by my Psychiatrist as a last-chance attempt at getting put on more stimulants - i'm currently on 1 56mg time-release Methylphenidate (prescribed by my Family Physician), but my tolerance is such that I need 3. That and those time-release only work for four hours. I told him I was looking into self medicating with meth because I was going back to school, and desperately needed a bump on my subscription. He responded by raising my dosage of Bupropian 8) (he's too chicken shit to put me back on stimulants after I misused them, even though I have a proven track record on them, he's a young guy)

Trust me, the LAST thing I want to do is use Meth. But i'm between a rock and a hard place. I have to go back to school and finish my degree. I absolutely have to be appropriately medicated for that to happen. I suppose I could try and find a new Psychiatrist, but even then chances are he won't put me on an adequate dose right off the bat, if ever.

Either way, Meth seemed to be great at first, but now i'm not getting any dopamine releases. I mean im stimulated, I guess it's better then nothing. But it's not anything close to adderall / Methlphenidate. At first it was identical to adderall, now it's just "meh". Not sure how much longer I'll be using it, just not doing it for me. Is this typical of Meth? Or did I just get a bad batch?

I personally understand stimulant abuse. It's an addiction I've kept very secret from people. So I know the pleasure/reward works and why stimulants are so enticing but also why you'd want to move on.

Adderall is indeed a powerful drug and much stronger than people give it credit for, and while I suppose low doses of meth can be compared to high dose adderall they're just different demons. Meth is just simply too potent and taxing on the body/mind. Where adderall excels as a "soft narcotic," is that even under abuse there aren't obvious consequences of the addiction for the general population. Under adderall withrawal--sure you face some depression and sluggishness I guess, but meth cessation results in pure ahedonia/ability to enjoy ANYTHING. My post won't make any sense until some time passes and you learn to fear that methamphetamine doesn't work therapeutically lol. It's not necessarily the drug itself, but the people using it. I know that quite a bit of people say that their lives have improved from methamphetamine. But I've never met anyone off the internet who used meth and didn't go straight tin foil hat "the government planted microchips into my brain" literally beyond reality insane. Apparently only functional meth addicts exist on the internet is what I've noticed.

Same here, I did phenomenal on Adderall for just about 8 years, then started abusing it heavily.

I get what you're saying, and it's commendable that you've gotten this far without any consequences beyond the social stigma. I used to felt the exact same about my DOC. It allowed me to function at a higher level for a few years even while everyone else was nodding out at work and becoming highy dysfunctional.

It's not going to be possible for you to believe what I am saying right now. Or probably for quite some time. And I'm not going to make a self-righteous post or try to parade sobriety around like it's life's only answer (because it truly is not). But personally I don't think you will have the same opinion of methamphetamine in 5 years. There's no way for me to post this without coming off as snarky or holier-than-thou, but that really is not how I am trying to approach this topic. Either way--all the best.

I don’t doubt the OPs story but I’m pretty sure we are dealing with a unicorn here. Not many people could pull this off without eventually wandering off the reservation. Cheers to his success though. I’m a bit jealous since my meth use generally pushes through functional to “no work this week again” fairly frequently.

I've considered this is in the past and in fact i've considered literally today as i have a ton of schoolwork to get done. I don't have a source so that's a main limiting factor but it's also obv risky. Perhaps it's better as a one off thing (eg. deadline approaching) and not for everyday use. Adderall is a great drug that is definitely misunderstood by the general public. I've never done meth so i dont want to speak too soon but methamphetamine is pharmacologically very similar to amphetamine (adderall) except in potency. Which can be equalized with lower doses as titans7 has said

That’s the problem, you can’t buy a “days worth” Nope. Nobody is going to sell you that small of an amount.

You have to buy a few days worth. And then you face the “Meth Trap”

“Meth Trap” = When you go to use meth for the first time ever, or the first time in a few weeks. You ingest a little 10mg dose at 7am, and that’s it? You’re good...

It’s impossible to do. You feel so good, you feel so amazing, you can’t help but take more. At 1:00pm you take what you think is going to be your last dose, only you’re up until 6am still beaming. “Fuck, I have to go to class/work, what do I do? There’s only one option...

And then the cycle repeats itself, usually for about three days straight.

After those three days? After your body begins to adjust? Small doses become more and more manageable and more and more beneficial. You get acclimated to the medication.

Definitely not recommend for one-time use, unless somehow you can manage to buy a single 10mg dose.
