Social Justice Here we go again: Killing of Rayshard Brooks by Atlanta police

after like 2 minutes of reading this source, I found this:

Black Americans are killed at a much higher rate than white Americans
Although half of the people shot and killed by police are white, black Americans are shot at a disproportionate rate. They account for less than 13 percent of the U.S. population, but are killed by police at more than twice the rate of white Americans. Hispanic Americans are also killed by police at a disproportionate rate.

The rate at which black Americans are killed by police is more than twice as high as the rate for white Americans.

Yikes. (Just using the sources you provided!)

"much more than twice" would still be less overall , proportionally , when you factor population (which you absolutely must to get any kind of accurate representation) :ROFLMAO: And that's assuming your figure is even accurate.

23 / million is less than double of 13 / million. 53% of murders by 13% of population is much more than double the other groups.
Also, the way i base my numbers is how much % of racial group get shot / police encounter. The population doesn't mean shit if you're looking at do police kill blacks more than whites. Shot / Police encounter is much more accurate and reliable. It debunks the claim that police are killing blacks much more based on race and that they have racist motives. White folks get shot more, in numbers and / police encounters. Only graph where blacks are killed more is the one you sent. Also, that's irrelevant to my point. I'm done arguing about points that aren't about my original comment.
Also, just please read the texts. I'm not here to argue about every little fancy point you found there, i sent those because you asked me to prove my point :)

Interesting stats thought experiment.

A quarter is flipped a total of 4 times. 3 of the times is tails. Do you bet heads or tails the next flip? No matter what data set you have the chances will be 50/50.
Then we get statistics that show racism within the ranks of the most dangerous job in America. Attempting to contextualize that is quite the task.

Well first, why would letting him go hurt a member of the public? The only thing he'd done was possibly DUI, and they'd already separated him from his car, so that's out.

But second, they also could have continued to chase him, and try and get him under control again. What would have happened after that we can only speculate, it might even still have resulted in him getting shot. But at least maybe now he would have been shot because he posed an actual danger rather than this bullshit.
How about don't fucking run or risk the police being violent with you?
The weird thing is putting most of the blame on the cop here.
If this guy just ran away and was shot I would agree with you.
But he actually reached for the officer's weapon and pointed it at the officer.
Once you do this - expect to be shot.
I wouldn't even wrestle with a cop as I would expect to be shot. Especially in today's climate.

@mal3volent you just ignore facts that you don't like or that hurts your narrative.
That's not how you debate with people. It means you're not looking for any truth you just wish to confirm your bias.
Honestly I can't believe that you will still play the "disproportionate" angle while directly ignoring the rates of violent crime committed and frequency of police interaction - why don't you care about disproportionate rates of people actually committing crime? It's almost as if you condone black people committing crime and then you expect the police to treat them with kids gloves even if they get violent.
White people are more likely to be shot (4 vs 3 per 10,000) but just because that goes against what you've heard from liberals - you just need to accept that the police are overall not racist and that they're more likely to shoot a white suspect when placed in a similar position. You're really committed to the "racist police" narrative which I understand because it's the common thread among some groups (including the entire MSM). But it's simply not true.

Based and redpilled

hopsin laid it out clearly back in 2012 in his song. Why the fuck did they burn the wendys down afterwards? thats jobs lost in their own community.

In america never fuck around with the police everybody gets killed. Hell all the old swatting shit that use to go on wrong one move and many people have been lit up who were actually innocent.

This officer in his american guidelines and training had no other choice. But fuck me why do americans hire the weakest fucking skinny police officers that cant even restrain anybody. maybe they should add a massive workout or weight presses to the course. And american cops always getting out runned. Do they even have a fitness requirment to be a cop in america?

America is a culture of fear and so many fucking guns everywhere everybody on edge 24/7. The police treat everybody like they are a ticking time bomb about to kill people.

Way I see it, unless there's something big I'm missing, the cop who shot him should be charged with his murder.

Exactly, and the police had already patted him down and knew he did not have a weapon on him, so at that point lethal force would never be justified, even if he hit an officer with the taser (since the taser is a less lethal weapon and used for that exact purpose.)

This is exactly why the officer was terminated.

As usual, you're wrong. Do you have any idea how law enforcement works in this country? Hey, bud, the officer was terminated - you lose. What does it feel like to constantly be wrong, or what I'm starting to suspect, is you like to purposefully troll and incite anger.

Police officers don't just get to start shooting at suspects because they feel it's justified, either understand the rules regarding using lethal force or put a disclaimer on your posts that your thoughts and views have no understanding of what you're criticizing.

You're all about holding civilians accountable for their actions , but somehow the cops get a pass for ignoring their training? I and others have mentioned numerous times that you should only use lethal force when your life or the life of another is under imminent threat. We've established that Brooks had been thoroughly searched and found to be unarmed. We know for a fact that at the time he was shot, the taser he had was already deployed, and thus posed zero threat to anyone.

So civilians who have no training and are not compensated in their roles as civilians should be expected to exercise judgment in these encounters, but police officers who do receive training and compensation are not held to that same standard?

Let's not forget who pays cops. Let's not forget who they work for. They have a job and they chose that job. They are expected to be professional and follow the rules at all times.

What it looks like to me is that he just said in his post that the guy was acting extremely dumb and that he wouldn't act that way himself. Neither would i and i think he made a good point that the situation could have been avoided just by acting rationally with the police. However, He didn't try to justify the acts of the cop. Did your misunderstand that on purpose or something?

Nope, so acting like that justified being killed? He does this in other threads too, so it's always the same.

What other point could he be trying to make? Did you purposefully misunderstand that on purpose or something?

I actually needed that man. Thanks for the laugh. Maybe take a look in the mirror before making a comment like that.

I never claimed so, but neither did he. Seems like you made up what he justifies and what not just to get mad at him. Looks like you have some personal feelings for him and that's why you reacted this way. Even if he's baiting, you took the bait big time and made yourself look much worse than he did himself.
