The 1 million dollar question > How long will it last?
Different aspects of the response will last different amounts of time.
Im predicting a couple years before things overall approach being back to normal.
More extreme measures will likely end sooner. But some ways this has affected society probably wont ever truly go back to how they were. And in some ways some of it's for the better.
Regardless of anything else though, this can't truly end until either there's a widespread vaccine, or we reach herd immunity.
Or if it's established that the virus really isnt as dangerous as it appears, but im not holding my breath. Lowest estimates are around 0.4% mortality and that's still relatively high.
0.5% mortality at the 60% infected estimated for herd immunity, in a country like the US that's about a million dead.
