I have a problem with this. First of all, there are people who are rude to me. Rudeness is also subjective. I am curt with my words. I do not directly insult anyone. That's the rules, insults. "Rudeness" is subjective. Some people are rude people yet they are allowed to espouse their political opinions. Sensitive moderators shouldn't be judges of rudeness.

My whole post should not have been deleted. Go and read the post and tell me - even if some of it was "rude" - what % of the post should have been removed.

IMO this is really just a tactic to protect the feelings of alisdair, who constantly tries to pick on me by nitpicking and desperately attempting to expose my hypocrisy, yet unfortunately for him he generally misses the mark and gets an intellectual spanking in return. I'd rather that this didn't happen and that he would refrain from engaging me at all. Because all this does is bait me into replying and then having an overzealous and sensitive moderator come in and either remove my posts, warn me and/or ban me.

So basically - if we refrain from direct insults can we just allow people to speak freely? Because overall I feel like am being targeted since my political opinions are controversial but also winning the war of ideas.

I have noticed that people are very rude with you. You post something and have a couple people getting ignorant with you but that's ok.
If you post anything non far left in ceps there are a few rude ones in there and jgrimes isn't it.
I have seen other members call people stupid but they agree with the moderators so nothing is done.
The bias here is just as bad as the media

similar to the reasons Antifa are allowed to get away with terrorism. Not all political opinions are treated equally.

Like what? Defending myself against ignorant attacks? I've copped a lot shit for merely offering my political opinions. Lots of personal attacks etc. The only way those people ever get in trouble or have posts edited is if I complain and that's generally against my morals to censor others. But then I feel like some mods would go out of their way to try and censor my posts sans any complaints. I might be wrong, just an observation.
 
Yeah, I've always thought that politics are another way to say ''zodiac'', haha. Instead of zodiac people you know, you got these, idk major haha visionaries, yeah that's the right word. I kinda get you, I think that most people troll but smart trolling like harm-reduction questions, still I can't forget one though fuckin crazy man... ''How many'' I cant haha, ''How many mg's is a MDMA pill'' haha and I got warned because haha I've said that I don't answer stupid questions. Then again, the only posts I have regarding harm-reduction are limited as most people and I think 90% of the community, though I don't wanna stir the waters but 90% of the community bites questions like this, it's crazy. Now, what you need to understand it's this. Life's temporary, there's no afterlife, the only worthy things are : Music, travelling, games and.. food. So everything else beside this it's just another useless rant of humanity. When you will learn to be like papa Shady then you will see the world for what it is. This being said, I think I made my point beyond clearly.

I've considered it but he makes too many amusing mistakes for me to miss and I'm just not the censorship type.
 
CEP has always had a big double standard IMO which is one of the reasons I rarely post there anymore. Not trying to take sides, but I've seen left leaning posters get away with way more over the years. I don't think that's exactly a surprise to anyone that's been here a while tho.

I've just been warned via PM about an "ad hom".

However there's no post attached and the alleged violation isn't even referenced - so how the fuck am I supposed to know what the moderators have a problem with??

Also the conversation is automatically closed so I can't even reply via DM - this is not a respectable way to moderate the forum.

What did I say to receive the warning so that I'll self-censor myself extra next time?
 
I know people that won't post there because posters like Novartis can call people stupid and the mods say nothing because they agree with his opinion.
Cut out the favoritism and the board would get more discussions from different points of view.
Noone wants to post be called names and the mods do nothing.
The mods are ruining that section but they don't care because everyone agrees with each other.
So congratulations you have an echo chamber.
Maybe try having a moderator from both sides?

There should be balance so this crap stops. More people would post there if it wasn't 1 sided

I just reported 1 of the guys post calling someone a dumb broad. Only had to go to his 3rd post. There will be more reported by him so i hope he gets the same treatment us conservation do
 
Waste of time posting there.
I have had posts edited by mods I have had posts deleted by mods to make it appear I was deserving of a ban.
I had exchanges of insults with space junk where we both insulted each other then all the posts where he insulted me were edited or removed and I was given a ban. It was done knowingly and intentionally by mods of cep.
 
All these complaints about CEPS is a joke to compared to how that forum was run just a few years ago.

This site has changed A LOT for the better. You guys have it so easy you have NO idea.

I think people just enjoy whining about politics and those complainers like to take out their political frustrations on the mods who are doing a fantastic job btw.

You don't find it hypocritical that a left leaning member can do things a conservative member can't?
Its still the same echo chamber it always has been
 
Politics really gets to people. It's tough to take responsibility, I know. It will be ok. Just breathe.
