pharmacist expert in stimulants

hello everybody, I'ma clinical pharmacist resident.... Also intrested in stimulants and have a deep informations in it .... I'm glad I could be of help

Which stimulant would you say had the strongest anorectic effect?
Even among much stronger stims, Ephedrine has been the best for that for me so far. I developed an almost psychosis-like revulsion of food to the point where if I saw or smelled it I would burst out of them room feeling incredibly strong disgust. It'd get super-angry and cry a lot, too (at the thought of the mere existence of food).
This developed after weeks of taking 60mg of it 3 times a day (the ECA stack with caffeine and aspirin).

May seem like a basic question and I know there are articles and posts all over the web that discusses this, maybe I'm thinking too hard about it but I just don't seem to quite get it.

I take Vyvanse for add 70mg. Sometimes I dose more than I'm supposed to take, sometimes I take less. It has been helpful.

I know eating, sleeping, hydration is part of it; but even doing all that right I often get various results.

Oftentimes it gives me a mood lift and keeps me focused on tasks really well. Oftentimes it makes it hard to get off the couch... Sometimes I fall into zombie mode and just want to hide from the world and kinda am depressed.

Can you possibly explain why it can be so different from day to day; maybe elaborate a bit? Im very curious as to hearing your opinion.

Thanks

i'm no expert just a heavy amphetamine user, and i do love my d-amp (what vyvanse turns into) it might be that since you use more on some days, there are off days where you simply need more dopamine, may i suggest more protein in your diet (they got these good noodles that're 1g each which is insane compared to steak or chicken) i get those noodles out when i feel a state like that coming on

Yeah I can see that... I've also kinda been experimenting with the supplement l-tyrosine. I don't take it religiously, only once in awhile when I remember it's there. Haven't noticed much myself but some people say its really helpful for such a situation.

Ive taken n reccomended it myself, it generally shows its effectiveness when you dont take amps daily

I ran out a couple months ago but I used to take L-Tyrosine (usually 1000mg) in the morning and then again about noon if I didn't wanna nod or sleep all day.
Don't get me wrong, I love nodding/sleeping all the time but I also want to go out and do stuff that requires semi-coherence.
I can actually function like I am - I still often read a book a day while really sedated - but it's nice to be alert sometimes.

This is a tough question. Vyvanse can put me to bed. I feel as if something to do with the lysine group on the molecule and it's metabolism (maybe some uncharacterized metabolites?) Either that, or lisdexamfetamine is not actually "inactive" after all

You also may be metabolising more lisdex into d amp some days
Ps. Acidity reduces amphetmine absorbtion and increases excretion maybe your diet is the culprit

Hmm interesting thoughts. I used to take 5htp as well on days that the jitters were affecting my productivity but I have a nightmare problem already and it definitely amplified it.
So I generally stay away from anything that messes with serotonin for the most. SSRI's and other anti depressants are defiantly out of the question. I don't have a depression issue anyway.
I smoke weed and do a few other things and I'm sure some of these release serotonin too but don't have the dreaming affect. Plus I think there is somthing about dopamine and serotonin kinda competing for space so it may dampen amps. Idk.
It's certainly by no means healthy but being a heavy drinker to begin with I usually turn to "ol reliable" when the Vyvanse is making me a hermit on bad anxiety days. Ugh.

It's just so frustrating how Vyvanse can be such a wonderful med a lot of the time and other times it seems like the devil lol.

Serotonin in the form of SSRI's for example will put the clamp down on amphetamines. depending how you dose.

If your taking Vyvanse and smoking weed on top of it, that would magnify a lot of things and definitely contribute to anxiety.
