Gun Owners

Nope, the mountains of western NC. Lots of black bears, I've had all sorts of encounters with them, I was only really scared that one time. They come around because put their garbage outside too early and the bears get in it. One time, one of the coolest things I've ever experienced happened. A big mama bear with a small cub trailing and a tiny infant with its eyes still closed that she as carrying, came down the hill and walked onto the deck right in front of the double french doors I was sitting across from. She put the baby down, looked at me, locked eyes with me, and left them there and went around the front to get some garbage. In a few minutes she came back, met my gaze again, nodded to me, and they were on their way. It was so cool because basically she trusted me to babysit her kids. It was a bear I had seen often. Really, black bears are awesome. They don;t want to hurt you, they're smart, curious creatures. Unless you threaten them or their little ones. Or have food in your tent at night and they break in and accidentally kill you (that happened to a girl a few years ago, she had a wrapper from a protein bar in her pocket and was sleeping in her tent and a bear busted in and killed her trying to get to the smell of food, probably by accident.

Anyway geez I'm high and rambling. I'm really glad if they got rid of bump stocks and also the gun show loophole. That gun show loophole, to me, makes no sense whatsoever. Are there laws about buying guns or not? You need to be consistent. It sucks for the huge majority of people who aren't going to do any harm with guns, but I also believe in background checks and a waiting period. It prevents, I have to imagine at least sometimes, compulsive gun violence if the person getting the gun has to wait a little while. Time to cool off.

Anyway I do wish guns weren't a thing, they're too deadly, too easy to kill someone, too easy to accidentally kill a bystander. Plus, sword fighting is way more badass. However, since they exist and there are hundreds of millions of them in circulation, it does seem rather prudent to have one just in case.

I'm not against guns, but I do think we need to be a little more sensible about it.

Fuck that! I dont want to bears coming in my house! I live in Florida and have had HUGE ass alligators come right up to my back door (dude was like 13+ feet long), thankfully he didnt stay too long. Im glad he didnt go into my pool lol That would have been quite interesting, to say the least lol

Its always been my dream to get a Tommy gun, I dont know why but I just love the way they look, sound, anyone here ever shot one?

I have one and yes they are very fun to shoot, and a real people pleaser at the range:cool::p

I dont have one, but ive shot one! It was pretty damn fun! I was on the military base and this older guy had a bunch of guns, Ive seen him several times there but never really talked to him, and one day we just started talking and asked me if I wanted to shoot it (at this time I only had a .22 and never shot anything else), so I gladly accepted. It was freaking awesome! Its such a badass gun, wish I had one! This was about 6 years ago.

LOL free daycare for mama bear, that's hilarious. What a heart-warming story. Thanks for sharing that.

Its Heavy as shit, real old school steel the whole gun, and when you add all that 45 ACP ammo :p

just saying, Glock (Austrian company) is alleged to fund right wing politicians with ties to neo nazis... just in case someone adheres to "voting with your wallet"...

Heh, even I think that having bears stopping by for dinner uninvited is a valid reason to own a gun...

Yes you're right about that... I had a bear walk up my deck stairs once when I left my gate open and I was working about 10 feet from the open door (just had a screen door closed), looked up, and a big ol' black bear was just standing there looking at me. I got nervous, since in my office I would have no escape routes, so I just looked at him and said "hey man, don't worry I'm moving slightly closer but just going into the other room". The bear was just curious, I didn't feel a threat from it, but it could have decided to just walk through the screen door into the house. Once when I was cooking a really good smelling meal, a huge black bear started pacing back and forth for like an hour on my back deck, he'd lean against the doors (which were closed) and sniff and press on them some, and I was so worried it would break in. That's the only time out of countless close bear encounters that I've felt threatened/scared. I have a respectful caution but really almost all of my experience have been positive. The bears here are super used to people, they're always getting into trash that people leave out. So I don't think they feel threatened by us at all, and black bears by nature are rather gentle and inquisitive creatures. But yeah in case one ever breaks in, I'd really be wishing I had a gun. Just firing it would scare one off or worst case scenario, I could at least defend myself. Human without a gun = fucked up by a bear.

Liking the Rugger Security 9... Gonna look some more but I have a feeling that's what I'm end up getting. Definitely felt the best grip wise.

Happy birthday to me. ?

I love my registered Walther. Compact, light, and easy to carry. I recommend going to a gun show in your area. Most people there are super helpful in finding the perfect firearm for your need.
