The 2018 Trump Presidency thread

He's a crooked lying piece of shit. When he said I'll be the first president in history to make money off this job... I knew right then and there he's a str8 piece of shit. His tax cut for the major ultra-rich we're just tax cuts for himself and his family... that's all. This man is out for himself and his self only.

To be fair every president makes $400,000 USD/year, yes ?

CH... I'm not talking about his yearly salary that he said he would donate and from what I understand he hasn't yet. He was talking about getting rich by using his Trump name. People renting hotel rooms just because of who he. Also there are other ways he's using the presidency to get richer.

MSNBC and CNN have talked about him using his name to get rich off the presidency... Not his salary. he said that he's going to get richer using the presidency to do it. They said he's failing at it because of how toxic the Trump name is now but he's trying .

That's a bunch of crap if he was trying to get rich now (he's old as shit, already rich) he would toe the PC establishment line for post presidency bribe payments (million dollar speeches, no-show positions on boards) like 90-97% or whatever of the other politicians.

Good lol... He tried to get richer but he failed... like everything he tries. Lot of bankruptcies. Failed marriages. He lost the popular vote by 3 million. He has said it was the biggest win in history (pathological liar) but he only won by 78,000 to 80,000 electorial college votes... total.

You guys act like there's been a good president since JFK
that would be relevant if we were talking about 'good' and 'bad' which we're not (and which are obviously subjective).

i've read posts here from people saying that they like trump because, among other things, he's 'draining the swamp' and he's not part of the establishment which, to me, is just laughable nonsense.

alasdair

He is the swamp. It blows my mind that people don't see it. That man is out for himself and his self only. Since the 70s he's been out for himself. He is a horrible human being.

Alastair.... I just read the article you posted from The Washington Post my favorite part of it is when it says... "And now we have taken another leap forward in being able to understand how Trump is profiting off the presidency, including possibly from Russia.? He adds, ??Follow the money,? the old adage goes, and we are going to do exactly that thanks to this decision.?... with Cohen and manafort cutting deals plus this.. let's take him down... Now.

Trump Engaged in Suspect Tax Schemes as He Reaped Riches From His Father

President Trump participated in dubious tax schemes during the 1990s, including instances of outright fraud, that greatly increased the fortune he received from his parents, an investigation by The New York Times has found.

...

Much of this money came to Mr. Trump because he helped his parents dodge taxes. He and his siblings set up a sham corporation to disguise millions of dollars in gifts from their parents, records and interviews show. Records indicate that Mr. Trump helped his father take improper tax deductions worth millions more. He also helped formulate a strategy to undervalue his parents’ real estate holdings by hundreds of millions of dollars on tax returns, sharply reducing the tax bill when those properties were transferred to him and his siblings.

...

But tax experts briefed on The Times’s findings said the Trumps appeared to have done more than exploit legal loopholes. They said the conduct described here represented a pattern of deception and obfuscation, particularly about the value of Fred Trump’s real estate, that repeatedly prevented the I.R.S. from taxing large transfers of wealth to his children.

...

Is that really any surprise? What I find amusing is that the official story, the one trump seems to think is impressive, is that he "only" received a loan from his dad for a million dollars. Which even if it were true would be far from being "self made". Best of all, it's like he really thinks that's something to be proud of. Like he started with nothing by getting a million dollar loan. If it even was a loan.

And let's not forget his continued refusal to release his tax returns. I don't believe he would do that if there were nothing to hide. It's of no benefit to a political candidate to do something that looks suspicious when they have nothing to hide anyway.

Why would he release his tax return if Pravda will attack him 24/7 for using LEGAL deductions/loopholes etc. "He should have given the government the most of his money he possibly could!"

Somehow plenty of other presidents have managed to do so without serious political repercussions. So sorry but that sounds like crap. He would release them if he had nothing to hide. It's not like people don't attack him now for not releasing them.

If releasing them were so politically difficult, no presidential candidate would and it wouldn't be expected.

I can guarantee you his fat narcissistic lying ass is hiding something BIG.

Remember when he sued someone for saying he was a millionaire instead of a billionaire. The judge said all he had to do was prove that he was a billionaire... He couldn't prove he was a billionaire so he lost the case. Trump said he couldn't prove it because his income fluctuates LOL bullshit Someone narcissistic like Trump...holy shit he would be flashing that he was a billionaire EVERYWHERE
