The 2018 Trump Presidency thread

It will be interesting to see if the tariff is enacted as stated on aluminum and steel with no exceptions.

NAFTA will be screwed as well as a lot of other relationships. (Our number one source for steel is Canada.) 8)

Trump came in with the whole "I'm going to get rid of all the regulations, it's strangling business!" rhetoric, now he's taxing it to hell.

Eventually the Republicans are going to realize micromanaging an economy is a bad call, it's exactly what the totalitarians have been doing (Un, etc.) and it's not what America's all about.

Might also be because a lot of us think your ideas are crazy and extreme and counter productive and outright totalitarian. Just a possibility.

There are plenty of comments that are weird and crazy here, from practically everyone.

Thats the best bit of this joint.

A lot of things make no sense. I hope eventually the pendulum will swing back to having some kind of alm and contentment but that wont happen in the next few years at least.

But it's all a pipe dream and will never happen and this country will continue to destroy itself because too many prominent people profit off the misery.
Hey, I agree.

Though, it's mostly Mr. Trump and his associates currently robbing the country blind. You may disagree. So much for goats and magas. More like woats and matas.

And all this time I've been repeatidly told America was bankrupt. Man will their faces be red. ;)

morally bankrupt and $trillion in debt. that's def bankrupt. since our entire economy is debt-based its easy to steal money that doesn't actually exist - thats how pretty much all money thefts happen these days.

You can't have it both ways. Either its bankrupt or its not.

The whole problem of the supposed government debt issue is that it assumes managing a countries money works just like managing a household budget. It doesn't. For one, a lot of this concern revolves around this notion that china one day might call in its debt. Which even if it could, it wouldn't. But aside from that, it's not that kind of a debt.

Granted the increasing debt is a concern. But not as much as people make out. We're still a long way away from the greatest our debt to gdp has ever been.

isn't the debt a concern if you're an asshat like Trump and treat every other country like shit excluding mother Russia and nobody wants to lend you moneys anymore? lol

Stormy Daniels SUES TRUMP

I could have come up with something this bizarre, but it's real.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/p...id-because-trump-didnt-sign-report-2018-03-06

I don't think not signing is a huge deal, considering she got the money (she did, didn't she?) - if I don't want to sign something, but I have the other party do so, and we act like it's all good, does it really matter?

I guess you don't become a porn star by being smart.

Stephanie Clifford, the adult film star also known as Stormy Daniels, is suing President Donald Trump, claiming that her nondisclosure agreement is invalid because Trump did not sign it, NBC News reported late Tuesday. The suit alleges that while she and Trump lawyer Michael Cohen signed the document in which she agreed not to disclose her intimate relationship with Trump, spaces where Trump was supposed to sign were left blank, making the agreement void, NBC News said.

she has a case. if he didn't sign it nor his power of attorney signed for him then the contract is invalid. and everyone knows about it so there's no point in a non-disclosure contract.

how does she know? could he not claim he has "the original" with his own signature on it? or he signed "his copy but not hers"?

there will probably be an easy lie out of this situation.

did it just dawn on her just now that he didn't sign it?

I predict she gets nothing out of this suit (Trump happens to win a lot in court).

Lol.

This is equal parts disgusting and hilarious.

Trump is such a fucking mess.

Indeed. I'm looking forward to the slow and gradual collapse of the administration.

both parties get a copy of the final version, with all signatures. a signature is a written acknowledgement that the party agrees to the terms outlined in the contract, no signature means they don't agree and are not bound by the contract.

as for why it matters, I've heard her next project is to be titled "in the eye of the storm, starring ronald pump" ;)

both parties get a copy of the final version, with all signatures.

So then Trump will claim her "copy" is fabricated/photo-shopped/altered so that his signature isn't present. He'll affirm that he did sign it, and have a "signed copy" of his own to "prove it", if it comes to that.

He's a chronic liar, and will continue to lie regarding this and Russiagate.

http://smallbusiness.findlaw.com/bu...-rules-regarding-signatures-in-contracts.html

the purpose of the suit is to determine the validity of the contract. basically either trump gives her a signed copy or its void, those are the only ways this plays out.

Maybe he can bribe the judge $130,000. =D

I think that sum of figure would change my mind on a few things.

Thank you for clarifying tathra; the endgame is to force Trump's hand into admitting that he really did sleep with her.

If he were to make such a claim, i suspect he'd be exposing himself (no pun intended) to fraud charges, or perjury? Law is not my strong point.

Either way, it's not a good look. Might be far too late to change anyone's mind about him, but i do wonder how fundamentalist chriistiians can support such a philandering john.

Oh man. Classic.
This is some seriously seedy shit. I hope it doesn't distract from whatever shady things his admistration are up to.

It seems so conveniently timed and random though, it almost makes me wonder if trump would manufacture a sensationalist drama like this to distract from all the trouble he and his people are in.
