I stand corrected - it was October 2001 when i got it thinking now (discogs had the International release as 14/1/2002 but I remember my local record shop letting me having it when they got the stocks in, only a few days early but still ahead of the release date). Yh, JOOF mixed all 3 discs. One of my favourite jocks ever - I only tried candyflipping for the first time at the last Godskitchen and made sure that the acids had well took effect by the time he came on (4am =D ) - best set of the night alongside Fergie.

So it was Sunnyside up that you used to check? That's one classic night. I first saw him @ Progress in Derby in 1997 but didn't really start getting into him big style until Godskitchen started their Birmingham Friday night and the whole trance thing happened. His 2001 BBCR1 EM was the best that year IMO (the one from the previous year was quality as well

I understand where you are coming from, but even by the time he was playing club trance, he was and still is IMO the deepest of that particular set of UK jocks (John Kelly, JJ, Tall Paul, Oakie (but perhaps on par with Guy Ornadel)) and many of the European D.J.'s with that sound. As I said I didn't really start attending clubs regularly until 1998 - before that I was mostly doing the hardcore - dnb rave thing (Helter Skelter, Dreamscape etc) by which time the trance noise was really blowing up.

He was resident at Golden in Stoke for a while there which was a good club for us for a local weekender - GK Friday then the Mezzanine (while it was open) or Golden (which survived a bit longer) Saturday, so saw him a fair few times there to.

Never realised it was a Sunday thing. Makes sense with the name now. If Sunnyside up was the carry on what sort of clubs were you doing overnight?
 
Labyrinth Dalston, Thyssen film studios what ever it was called opposite Labyrinth, 414 (most frequented club), Camden palace, Strawberry Sundae, The Fridge on a Friday, Heaven on Thursday, a saturday day club EC1 club plus a few more from that time.

You start on a Thursday, work on a Friday, then non stop till Sunday evening sometimes even till Monday morning.

That's amazing - all without having to leave London as well! I could never cane it for that long I would have had a heart attack or psychotic breakdown. Club night + carry on or Club night and twat it through to next club night was as far as i ever took it.
