Foamy Urine during Meth Comedown

So a little background... I use once or twice every several months. Recently over the past week i snoked .5 over flabout four days with some broken 1 or 2 hour power naps in there. Stayed hydraged well. Probably didn't eat as much as a should but atleast ate a tiny bit each day.

Now im on day 2 of the comedown having the usual effects of anxiety, slightly elevated heart rate. Etc. One thing that is slightly concerning me though is everytime i have to piss its always foamy/bubbly. Sometimes its a bunch other timesits next to noting. The color remains pale yellow to clear. So im pretty sure its not dehdration. Ive read it could be due to kidney damage/failure. I understand none of you cane give professional medical advice. Id like an opinion on if i did some damage or if its psychosomatic. I plan on going to Dr. Or urgent care if it doesn't subside in a couple of days.
 
When I was using meth, my urine always smelled strongly of ammonia, and was foamy. It always made sense to me that it was just a byproduct, meth is made with ammonia. If it really concerns you I would see a doctor. Is there any sort of pain?

No pain at all. I knew of the ammonia smell being a byproduct never heard of foamy urine. I really feel perfectly fine other than usual come down effects. I honestly was thinking its probably all in my head from the mad anxiety on the comedown and thinking theres something wrong with your body from it. Since i have never binged that long or anything i figured i would give it a couple of days before i get checked out unless i feel seriously ill.
 
That's what I would do. Yeah ammonia is pretty foamy. I would just keep an eye on yourself. I think you'll be ok, just go with your gut.

Thanks for the quick responses. You helped my anxiety a ton. Lurked on bluelight for a while trying to find a similar situation. Just glad some one else has expirienced the same thing.

necro reply, I figured I should chime in with my two cents even if it is 6 years later just because this is near the top of the search results — two cents:
This didn't really make sense to me, as there should be a negligible amount of ammonia remaining in the meth, at best. Certainly not enough to contribute to a smell.
I mean, usually my meth doesn't smell like anmonia, and what little there could possibly be should get broken down in your body if eaten (or IV'd or boofed, smoking would get rid of pretty much all the ammonia espescially if you are one to clear your pipe while the ice melts).
So, idk... Just bothered me a bit. I might be missing something here though.

As for what I have gathered with a brief lookup:
• A lot of people point towards proteins in the urine as a cause for foamy urine in a worse case/scenario. It could also be as simple as dehydration, the angle and speed your pee hits the toilet, and more. Also I have never seen anyone ask if meth itself, which gets put through the urine as-is iirc, causes foaming. There are just so many causes. Usually it is one of the simple ones.
• The bottom line is, it this is a consistent issue that lasts days and maybe even more days depending on your health anxiety tolerance, get it tested. Espescially if you have lower back/kidney area pain that can't be explained by straining/awkward postures/meth activities. Community clinics exist with sliding scale fees and payment plans. Something.
• As for the cause of proteins in the urine, afaik it is general kidney strain and even damage. It could be caused from a variety of things that meth does, including high blood pressure, dehydration, etc. It is worth noting, dehydration can both cause foamy urine on its own, AND it can cause the kidneys to get hurt and put proteins out. Of course, dehydration alone would probably come first.

I'm no expert, and just wanted another take in the thread just in case anyone googles/duckduckgo's this in the future and comes across this thread. — To this person: Keep researching and/or get a urinalysis done if it bothers you enough.
