2017 Trump Presidency Thread

I think most countries have a dark history of racism, not only in politics.

I think a country should put its own citizens first. In the uk there's a difference between illegal immigrant and refugee, so when I say illegal immigrant that's what I mean, not refugee or asylum seeker

You just quoted me as saying illegal immigrants. Just because refugees were being discussed doesn't mean I can't comment on illegal immigrants it doesn't mean I'm confusing the two.

Where? I don't see a single instance of me using the term "illegal immigrants" with regard to you. I used the more general term "immigrants". Quote me if I wrote otherwise.

Look, I never called you an asshole.
For the sake of everyone, including me, who is sick of your whining, either use the quote function or learn how or let it go.
Seriously, unless you're really high, you might have a problem.

Ok mate, try not to get too upset it's only the internet lol
I'm not high so must have a problem.

Anyway,,, trump,, what a cunt

Is it too early to say this is the greatest presidencey of all time? 6 months is a little early but he is a real mover and shaker. All jokes aside the one good or bad takeaway from this so far is that social media can bypass the media and he has proved that so far.

Trump tells reporters he has military options on the table. For what, no one knows:

Analysts said that the Trump threat simply played into president Nicolas Maduro’s hands, giving him a great excuse to blame the US for his woes. “And just like that, Christmas came early for the strongman in Caracas,” tweeted Raul Gallegos, a Venezuela analyst at Control Risks.

In Caracas the government accused Mr Trump of trying “to drag Latin America and the Caribbean into a conflict that would permanently alter the stability, peace and security of our region”.

Inside the new assembly on Saturday, delegates made angry speeches against Mr Trump and “Yankee imperialism”.

Do I need a provocative hook? This could raise prices on Coffee and Cocaine!!!

totally agree.

it makes you look as much of a joke as, say, somebody who thinks all liberals think and act the same way and mockingly refers to them as libtards.

that kind of thing?

:\

alasdair

Trump supporters aren't all racists? I suppose I also agree.

Trump supporters knowingly voted for a racist, or they made a disgustingly ignorant and shockingly uninformed choice. So, they're either racist or they're just incredibly fucking stupid.

Or, they're incredibly fucking stupid racists. One of the three.

Nice coverage of the spread, Mel22!
I'm curious if the support of white supremacists will waver or perish after his tepid denunciation of their ilk.
Any thoughts?

The real question for me is how many people all together did not vote for him? Not only those who voted for Hillary.

That's a lot of people! It's way over 50%, considering everyone - it could easily get to 60% but never mind that. Fast forward 6-7 months after the inauguration day, and he's approval rates went down to 33%. Wow, that's historic literally speaking. I don't think there was any other president with lower approval percentage during their first 6 months in US ever.

If there was an election now I wonder if he could still make it, probably not. If he was on a probation period, he would have lost the job. And even if we forget all of the above, what has been done since he took office? But name one great achievement Trump could be really proud of. I mean despite of everything that has happened from day one what would be the greatest thing he has achieved so far?

Ye well that's what I was thinking, people are saying trump supporters are racist and stupid but I'm not convinced people knew exactly what he was like.

For a moment after the election (during the 24 hour period he did not tweet) a lot of people, including reporters from CNN were asking if Donald Trump would be something different. For one day I believe a lot of people wondered if all of those contradictions, bigotry, etc was only part of the campaign game. After all that normally tends to happen, but then he spoke on the following day, he tweeted and he became so self absorbed he forgot he was elected. And the same on the day after, and then with the press.

All of those talks were about petty things. Like lying about the number of people present at his inauguration, talking about him and only him as if he was still campaigning. Once standing in front of a memorable wall full of important and so meaningful stars, but he wanted be the star even when he was one. After all he had won, right?

Let the comments about Trump's supporters aside. He is in love with himself and that narcissism kills a lot of great moments he could have simply honored people, tried to unite the country. He's lost so many opportunities, for instance once to talk about people who booed his vice on a Broadway play, he talks too much - but doesn't really seem to realize what the issue is. Leaders are not like that. I mean when Democrats and Republicans got together and decided it could be a good idea to rethink Obama care, change the name fix the flaws, whatever. What did he do? He asked them not to do it and reject it, no matter what. It has to be about him Trump, not about helping people or helping the country. That became obvious for so many people around the globe.

My point is that he's missed a lot of good opportunities to have done something he could have been proud of.

^I will not say anything positive about Trump. Ever.
Trump has hurt so many Americans, for example, transgenders in the military are unsure about their status, which must be terrifying.
People with health insurance are being hurt because his threat to not pay the subsidies to health insurance companies under the Affordable Care Act is destabilizing the health insurance industry, which is having many negative impacts. For instance, planned increases in premiums and more insurers planning to pull out of markets populated with the people who depend on those subsidies for health insurance. If he does stop the payments, it would result in millions losing their insurance. However, it's already hurting those who are insured by the ACA and those who aren't.
That's just a sample.
Real Americans are being hurt and killed and it all started with Trump. He isn't a representative of the American people, and he's proven that there's no one he won't betray if he feels like it.

End of rant.

Ye well that's what I was thinking, people are saying trump supporters are racist and stupid but I'm not convinced people knew exactly what he was like.

But if you voted not knowing what the man was like (and he's not exactly complex) then you have to start thinking of synonyms for "ignorant".

I still don't know how a NYC trust fund kid with hair that says "I have problems seeing myself accurately", who works in Hollywood, never met Jesus, dodged the draft 4x, insults war heroes and gropes women, wins over the hard-working God-fearing, tell it plain citizens of our rural nowheres.

It's almost like they're full of shit or something.
