Only child in my life is my girlfriend's nephew, but since I've known him his entire 7 years of life, I know him pretty well. I feel like an uncle to him, his father isn't around, uncle off in the military. His grandpa and I are the only two males in his life. I barely spend any time with him and he'll do things for me without questioning it, whereas if my gal or her sister tell him to do anything, he ignores them. It's odd the authority kids will give some, but not others. I'm just generally flattered that my future nephew loves me already hahah.

^That's sweet as :) I think kids tend to see men as authority figures. I certainly never wanted to disobey my father but he got more and more batshit as I grew up and I eventually had to.

Hey, this is worth a listen:

Actaully so is this. Its reminicent of Earth, slow droning guitars with a fair bit of sustain. Sparse drums and other instrumentation. Plus she's got a cool voice. Very dark and doomy. Not metal but intense, brooding and slowly rising music:

Cream Gravy's video made me lol xD

I'm having my first vacation in over two years. Feels good. I'm staying in my mom's place in Europe. She's been living here for seven years, I hadn't seen her in a long time. Next weekend I'm gonna visit my sister, who is doing a student exchange (Not sure if that's the correct expression for doing study abroad for a limited period. A year in this case) in London. There's also gonna be festival there where Aphex Twin and Flying Lotus are gonna be headlining. I can't believe I'm gonna see them put a show, it's kind of a dream come true to me haha. That kind of music doesn't have enough fans in latin america to justify a tour. And AT doesn't do many live appereances any way. So stocked !! Also have plans to visit a friend who is doing a PhD in Spain. Aaah, I can feel the accumulated stress from the last year slowly melting away. I finished a lot of work that had been giving me headaches and frustrations for a pretty long time before departing, so it feels like a deserved rest.

Also, a forced break from drugs haha. I brought some acid and mxe with me but I'm saving it for Aphex Twin. Tolerance breaks are cool I guess, but if I could find a plug for weed here it would be heaven xD.

^Nice one.

How about this? These guys were awesome live.

Reminds me of some groups I've been exploring recently :) thanks for that!

Someone said that the 'difference difference difference' part sounds like 'seafood seafood seafood'. Try not to hear that every time now hahahahaha :!

In other news, I just opened my first credit card line today. Now I'm an adult, yay.

Bit stimulated here :)

Yeah, they are awesome. What other groups have you been exploring?

In other news, I just opened my first credit card line today. Now I'm an adult, yay.

Ha, its a good feeling eh? Now you get to do the ultimate adult thing and accumulate a lifetime of debt :D I must say, I very rarely use credit but have been recently. I try to pay it off immediately. When I was an addict and cut off from my family (long story) I somehow got a credit card worth with a $600 limit, of course I ended up blowing it all and never paying it back. I totally forgot about it after multiple rehabs and bullshit, it caught up with me when I started getting letters and phone-calls from weirdoes. When my sister started getting called, I decided to pay off a debt over nearly 2k. :| Be very wary, money is never free ;)

Hmm, I'm overwhelmed by music ATM. I've not been working and have purchased at least 50 albums over the past few weeks, some digital only, others are actual CD's (what are they again?) and a few vinyls from the local store. Got some really good prices on a lot of it, I couldn't resist. :)

Nice mix though, I got me some awesome metal (mainly doom metal and power metal, with a select few death and black metal albums), bought the discography of Cut Copy, a few awesome folk/industrial albums (Of the Wand and the Moon- eerie stuff), my favorite albums by Autechre, a handful of releases by Warp (stuff by Bibio, Prefuse 93, Boards of Canada), 4 Black Sabbath albums on vinyl (Master of Reality, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell and Sabotage) and a random cluster of various metal, post-rock and ambient/chillwave stuff. I feel obligated to listen to all of them but I can't help focusing on a select few, the Sabbath vinyl's have gotten a nice play and I've been stuck on 3 different power metal albums (the content of which I will not bore you lads with) as well as one album by Cut Copy. I actually have only listened to about 25% of what I purchased.

Hmm, first world problems :D I shouldn't reeally be spending my money on this but oh well.

Does anyone else get overwhelmed by music? Its a good feeling TBH. Music is honestly one of the reasons I wake up, its the first thought I have, what tunes shall we start the day with? Today, its this damn Cut Copy album. It just appeals on a deep level, the dance beat and the slightly forlorn music, I dunno, I fucking love it.

Real life has been getting a little too unreal lately, like swinging on the swing set as a child and getting the wind knocked out of you for the first time. My current writing is trying to channel a down-home house party where someone demanded I delete my entire night's worth of permissible video documentary because he didn't trust I wasn't going to show his face in the video. Welcome to the new age of video permissions.

Tbh, I too don't want to be filmed or photographed and get annoyed when people do it without asking. Its me, my image, I don't need that out there, I am not interested in documenting my life to show others.

My mate set up a go-pro during our last DMT session and I felt really uncomfortable and asked him to turn it off. He didn't understand why (he is a photographer) but acquiesced. I dont really need a record of me taking drugs tbh.

I think its fair enough to request you don't show his face and maybe he simply didn't believe you wouldn't. Who knows?

Had he agreed earlier on to appear in the video as long as you didn't show his face? If so, it sounds unreasonable to ask you to delete everything just because he changed his mind. I have a bit of a thing with the way people hold their phones in public. They are probably just texting or reading an email or something, but from my point of view, there's someone I've never seen before pointing a camera right at me.

Maybe that sounds paranoid, but I think it's polite to hold phones flat in public.

FUCK YES. I will turn my back, cover my face when passing people with phones pointed at me. Then again i talk shit to the NSA through my phone, flip my camera off, show them my dick, and regularly tea bag (drop testicles on, if you didnt know the slang) my phones camera. So whats the point of avoiding other peoples? Dunno really.

SWILLOW... If I had a working speaker setup (and no housemates) i would hit play on fast hardcore/punk/metal just to get out of bed. I did it almost 20 yrs ago with the autoplay/alarm on my 3 disk cd changer (lol at how quick those became obsolete). I used Bane's "It All Comes Down To This" to wakeup for a year or two in highschol. By wakeup I mean listen to entire 30min cd then get up. I still have the opening movie sample and following bass chords burned into my brain.

At this point all I have of physical music is a box of records at my moms (some worth $$-$$$). If it werent for my $10 a month spotify sub and youtube I would be fucked. Nowadays I use the same few trustys as fallback, then I will get into a band Ive never heard and burn their discog into my brain for a week and move on. If there is a band comming I am going to see, I will try and get into other bands on the bill a month prior just to have a good time at the show.

I dunno if its a blessing or a curse. Family keeps showing up at my house because I ignore phonecalls. Like just leave me alone so I can drink up the courage to bow out of this game.

^When I was at school, I used to fall asleep blasting black metal. I can't imagine doing it again but it was awesome.

Stick with us friend, you're a good guy <3

Appreciate it. Thats what everyone keeps sayin. Just goin through some shit. Getting SWATTED is one of them, I dunno if Ill ever be the same after that, but I sure will fucking try

Checkmate Universe. The loads of video clips that an asshole deleted still existed in my trash folder. I am so hyped now to make a badass 10 minute party recap, obviously not including anyone's face that didn't give express permission to be captured. Did a few high quality interviews with some real gems of the scene.

I love me some psychedelic sludge metal. I just happened to stumble upon Melvins - Stag on youtube tonight, and it was a fucking revelation. I'd like the Melvins (or is it just Melvins?) but not delved too deep into their work, listening to only their earliest and (at the time, perhaps not any longer) latest work. The main album for me was (A) Senile Animal, but I'd listened to bits of Houdini, and I also like Gluey Porch Treatments.... but something about Stag hit me so fucking hard.
