How big is the chance that drugs will be legalized in the next 20 years.
And when will people learn the facts about drugs not the myths.

the majority of people don't do drugs, additionally they have been programmed to fear them. Therefore they have no interest in learning the facts instead of myths.

The average person believes what they hear in mainstream media, and isn't really capable of researching anything for themselves...especially something which they have no interest in and already fear.

If drugs become legal it will be due to the extreme burden on society imposed when we keep them illegal and the strengthening of criminal cartels by keeping them illegal...its won't have anything to do with the general public coming to their senses...i think it will be based on pragmatism by governments if they do become legal.

unfortunately many of the lawmakers are as unable to research and understand topics as the people that elect them, so progress will be slow.

I can see weed being legalized everywhere in the next 20 years MAYBE even heroin if the epidemic keeps getting worse in the US. The FDA recently approved clinical trials for prescription MDMA to be used for depression, I can't see MDMA being totally legalized though, maybe just medicinal MDMA which is still pretty crazy.

As far as cocaine goes, I can not think of any scenario where it would become legalized so thats that. Meth is an obvious answer... So like I said weed should be legalized in the whole US in the next 20 years. I could see heroin being legalized in more liberal countries or areas like Canada, or maybe just in parts of the US like the northeast where the epidemic is ravaging communities.

Is the netherlands liberal enoug for heroin?
I really want ro be a heroin addict and OD on it!!
Proberly my depression^!!

Depends on the country, I could easily see weed being legal at a federal level in the us. I still doubtful about parts of Europe legalizing weed, but I can see it highly decriminalized and medical laws put in. A majority of people are afraid of drugs so I can't really say the same for anything else. I could see harm-reduction centers start to become popular / "heroin safe places" with the current problem with opiates (explained good in this video)

Lots of countries in Europe are trending towards tolerance even depenelisation (uk excluded) depends on politics and the far right are gaining n popularity in some countries, which is frightening because thy are not at all "tolerant" . Also keeping drys illegal benefits a lot of powerful people

The only drug I can imagine being legalized in the next 20 years is cannabis. Other drugs will probably be decriminalized in some countries but that will happen slowly.
Also think that a few substances like psychedelics and MDMA will be researched further and maybe used medicinally, that would be cool.

That's my opinion based on what's happening right now but who knows, things can change drastically for good or bad, like in the UK where they recently made everything but alcohol, tobacco and caffeine illegal.

I definitely see drugs like cocaine, heroin, lsd and cannabis becoming legal and regulated if you ask me. Why cause the population between 18-35 will take the reigns of power in a few years who at the moment are the most liberal in regards to drug usage and liberalisation and it will be their time in power to put forward the new agenda and I think just based on a educated cultured viewpoint they will see this pointless war on drugs as being futile and in need to be put aside.

The money big business and that can make from a regualted legal drug market will be too much. It will happen.

I just hope it happens sooner than later.

De-criminalisation, Regulatuon, Taxation.
Dont wanna do drugs then dont, if you want check out your nearest pharmacy.

Except weed, not in the US.
Children tend to make people much more conservative on the issue. With fentanyl analogues, research drugs, synthetics made by amateur chemists, etc., I think this generation will have very different drug issues like being killed because they have no idea what they're taking.

Not a snowballs chance in hell. Not in the states that's for sure. It took more than 50 years for weed to be legal in some states. What makes you think that pharmaceuticals or addictive drugs have a shot at being legalized?

Weird to think that just 100 years ago or less there was no FDA or DEA and you could buy all kinds of drugs through mail order catalogues.. Kind of the dark net of their day.

Sadly I do not think many drugs will be legalized. At the very most some like heroin and weed may be rescheduled for medicinal use..

Hey if those heroin maintenance clinics they got in Europe and Canada catch on I would be a happy camper. I definitely would qualify.. ~15 rehabs, failed methadone, failed suboxone many times.

It's hard to say. Weed most likely. MDMA and shrooms for medicinal purposes quite possibly. It really depends on what kind of people from the next generations take power once the boomers die off. It has to be obvious to a great many people now how ludicrous the War On Drugs is, for SO many reasons, but it's a bit of a sunk cost fallacy thing at this point, I feel. Considering how many countless lives have been ruined, people killed, governments funded and palms greased by said War, it's going to take a brave stance of political suicide to stand up and say hey this shit's fucked and wrong we're gonna fix it. Organised crime, big pharma and the liquor industry are absolutely all in bed with the governments to keep this shitshow rolling and they will not give it up without a fight.

Most people dont (want to) know how ridicioules the war on drugs is.
And most people are to stupid they wont see how wrong the war on drugs is.
Look at trump almost 50% of the us has voted for him.
Sound fucking ridicioules.
But the world isnt fair.
Again im sorry for my shitty englisg

It's going to be difficult to get people to forget all the lies spread by the DEA over the years but I can definitely see weed being legal in 20 years, maybe shrooms in some states. For some reason I also want to say mescaline but I don't know why I just feel like it will be even though I have no evidence to support that claim. As a lot of you have said I think that the heroin epidemic is going to play a role, but I just don't see them legalizing heroin, possibly plain opium as an alternative maybe just because its more natural I guess.

Opium wont be legal becouse people can make heroin from it.
So you need to have prices so high that there is no profit.
But people wont pay for expensive opium if there is some cheap heroin around .

People who don't use drugs will most likely be against it, because of what criminalization and illegality have caused some users to become. They probably think that it's 'just' because of the drugs, and has nothing to do with the way people who choose to use drugs are almost forced to deal with sketchy people/situations at times. +the availability, or lack thereof just makes it all so much harder on so many people.
