Did you have the same system as today: 1 gram, 1 eightball, 1 ounce, etc.? Also, what were the prices? I've read reports from 60 to 125 dollars per gram (also 25 dollars per half a spoon). Also, was the word "eightball" even around in those times? And if not, when did it appear? And how did you know how much was in a bag, did your guy show you on a triple beam scale or did you just trust him? Did you go to your guy's place or did he come to yours? And how did you talk about it on the phone, did you use terms like "cola"? How did you disguise it? Ok, I know that's A LOT of questions for a first post, so if I bored you out, I'm very sorry. I can't really speak to the 70's, but my father was into Cocaine pretty big by his own indidation in the early 80's and onward. He said it was extremely common and not quite as villified as it is today. It wasn't just grouped in with the other hard drugs. It was acceptable for some reasons like that it made people socialize whereas the image of a Heroin user was someone flying solo in an abandoned building covered in abscesses.
He also said that back in the day it came in vials commonly. It made it easy to open and dump some out and go. Baggies are actually pretty inconvenient for this purpose.

Im 55 so i have experience from 70s & 80s coke was more excepted as a recreational drug back then along with crank or called rocket fuel or as most know speed but it wasnt a white powder it was a light orange color and moist in the summer time you could lose to melting. I use to love crank you would snort a spoon which cost around $20 and you could drink almost a case of beer and hardly be buzzed and stay up for a weekend with no sleep, i remember really good shit first drip and you could feel the hairs standing on the back of your neck. There is no speed today that compares, back to coke it was bought in vials and corner of baggies too back then we all use to have these vials that were called bullets you would load a gram of coke in it turn it upside down give it a tap then turn the top and it would hold a hit ready to go, so we use to take evertwhere skiing we would be in the lodge sitting around the table with them in our hands concealed taking hits in front of everybody without them seeing shit. And yes heroin users back then were flyin solo it was looked on very different then, but keep in mind users back then not many were going to heroin from pain meds like today. The worlds governments and big pharma have made more than half of todays heroin users by making pain meds so available and then cutting most off then left with no choice for many.
I would also like to ask: How did people buy 8-balls, and quarters and halves, I mean, were there vials big enough? I mean, I have only seen small 1 gramm vials, never anything bigger. So I guess if you buy in bulk then you get it in a corner of a sandwich bag? Thanks to everybody!
