Yes...because most people over the age of 17 don't want to talk about sex anyway because it's very old news at that point and prostitutes in particular because some people believe selling your body is shameful.

Bullshit! Sex workers know how to use condom's to prevent the spread of STDs.
In Australian states where sex work is legal and regulated the rate of STDs among sex workers is lower than the general population.

I agree. In countries where it is legal, it can be regulated and sex workers can be kept safer. In the town where I went to college, prostituion was not legal or common. But.the rate of STDs among college students was around 30 percent. This was from students hooking up and being stupid about it .
It happened to my friend in college. he desparately wanted to lose his virginity, and he did with a girl he found at a bar. He used a condom but ended up with crabs. I'm pretty sure it's harder to get crabs from a sex worker since they shave themselves and clean up to prevent that. Bar sluts on tthe other hand might not bother or even know how to keep themselves clean.
Prostitution will never go away. The fact that it is illegal in some places does nothing but increase health and safety risks.
There is no shame in going to a prostitute. They provide a valuable service.
