Can somebody please identify this beat?

I listen to a diverse range of genres....from heavy metal to jazz and electronica.
For the love of me, I am still in the dark as to who came up with this particular one.
Sometimes when I play this, I can't get it out of my head.
 
Industrial? If that's industrial then I've mistakenly bypassed this entire genre.

Sounds to me like breakbeat, in particular progressive breaks from 10+ years ago. An artist called beta was making fairly similar sounds fairly recently (haven't heard his stuff in a few years).

If I were you I'd post it on the bedrock message board or something. I'd be surprised if people like Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo weren't playing stuff like this.

Yip, I'm listening again and this is 100% Prog breaks. Message someone like beta. There aren't many artists producing this sound these days. Go down this avenue and you'll probably find the tune. It might even be an old one; sounds familiar to me as well. I wouldn't be surprised if it's on an old global underground/renaissance CD or something.
